My wife and I stayed in the Earth House for 6 nights in May 2017 and loved our visit. If you enjoy places that are unusual, full of local character, very different from the standard, bland, antiseptic kind of accommodation that is the same worldwide, then this is the place for you. The house is beautiful and quirky, crammed full with fascinating bric-a-brac accumulated by the family over years. There are wonderful views of the surrounding land and sea, through the pine and olive trees, from the hilltop situation of the Earth House. Panagiotis and Kleio are friendly, helpful hosts. Just a couple of things to note: this not a place for people with limited mobility, as there are steep stairs up to the bedroom and bathroom. Also, access to the house is up a steep approach road. If you are very fit, you might manage getting around from here with bicycles. But most people will require a car. In common with many older homes in Greece, toilet paper may not be flushed, but must be put into a small bin in the bathroom.

We received great hospitality upon arrival. We had a wonderful stay in this beatiful cave house! We loved _everything and it was hard to leave. This place was a perfect jumping off point for visiting the island. Thanks for opening your home, Panagiotis!

The cave house is a traditional house up the hill above Argostoli. We were lucky enough to be met by Klio who showed us where it was and how thinks worked there. We were greeted like a member of the family and helped with ideas of places to visit. The house itself is like a writer's retreat, it's cool and dark inside and filled with antiques. It's set amongst lovely big trees outside with lots of shade. You absolutely need a car if you stay here- to get into town, to any of the shops, or restaurants and to the beach. The house is up quite a windy, narrow road to drive. I would also note is that there is no double bed which we hadn't realised before we booked. The bedroom upstairs has two small antique single beds. There is lots of additional single sleeping space in the two rooms downstairs which I imagine would be good if you go with a family but for a couple it's a shame there was no double.
