Jérôme was very friendly when we arrived, even though we were a little later than planned. He had some advice for how to get into Nice and where to eat, but we didn't actually act on the recommendations (we ate at some amazing places though!).
The view of Nice is undeniably impressive, but we were very disappointed to arrive at this hillside villa very far out of the centre of Nice and obviously very far from the sea. It was advertised to us as '10 minutes from the sea' and it worked out to be at least 50 minutes via the tram. The tram itself is good (€1.50 each, €1 if you park and ride) but was a 15-20 min walk away from the accommodation with a lot of hills... Not huge fun in the sun. This is an important factor, as it has contradicted one of the main reasons for our booking here. This is listed in a disingenuous, if not flat-out dishonest fashion.
This opinion is furthered but the impressive images displayed on the airbnb page. The building does have a good view and there are some nice terraces and a modest pool, but they are not of the quality suggested by the pictures. That said, it is hard to criticise wanting to show your patch in the best possible light. A point of caution.
Our room was very small. We had two singles made into a double bed, which dominates most of the floor space. There is a modest bathroom with no door to the bedroom. The room smelled very badly of cigarettes and seem to go in phases, suggesting that it may be coming in through the adjoining but locked door. We didn't have a lock on the external door - you can lock the sliding door from the inside, and you have a remote for external shutters (much like a shop shutter), but it isn't ideal or aesthetically pleasing!
Our experience made it feel over-priced, perhaps as we were expecting one of the bigger, much more nicely finished rooms as shown in the images.
The parking was good and we cannot criticise the hosting but this listing needs to be revised to be far more representative.
