Eve's apartment is an incredibly lovely getaway - it feels like a vacation home! The windows are facing west, so you can enjoy the sunsets filling the space with warmth and coziness. There is a super comfortable long chair by the window behind a row of plants where it's great to relax, read, or work on a laptop, and it feels like you're in a back yard of a country house surrounded by the greenery! Really loved the lighting in the apartment - strings of small lights running along the edges of furniture and around the window make it feel very special.
Also I really appreciated that the windows aren't facing a busy city street but instead partly Belt parkway and partly a bridge over the parkway. It means you never get to hear cars honking, squealing, stopping and accelerating, but rather just a hiss from an even flow of traffic in the distance. Makes for a quiet and peaceful sleep - never woke up once to any noise here.
Subway station is a very short walk away. The cafes, clubs and restaurants of sheepshead bay along Emmons ave are right around the corner. The amazing gourmet selection of all sorts of treats, sweets, fruits and salads in Cherry Hill store is impressive and the store is open till midnight. Building has a laundry room on 1st floor open 8am-8pm, and there is a commercial laundromat around the corner open 24h.
Two things I came to miss here on occasion are a microwave and a more updated TV. The TV isn't connected to a cable box and more importantly doesn't have HDMI inputs, so I couldn't stream content from my mobile phone to it. Oh well :)
Overall, I spent 2 weeks here and really enjoyed my stay. Did not want to leave. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for peace, quiet and serenity.
