heat, it is cool inside. We overlook a river and we usually eat breakfast and dinner on the terrace. Because of the altitude (620m) summer evenings are wonderfully cool, and we do not have a huge problem with mosquitoes - the air is very dry.
If you want a frenetic nightlife, this is not for you. However, if you want simply to rest, walk, swim, yoga or cycle in the most beautiful countryside in France, you are in the ideal place. Because of the landscape, unlike much of France, there is no industrial farming, so our fruit and vegetables are nearly all organic. The meat is raised on the local hillsides, and the eggs are from a neighbours chickens.
I spent most of my career in the film industry, and still do occasional work in film. Mainly though I write about food. I used to own a restaurant in London and worked on a BBC series on Italian food. Cooking is my passion. I am happy to cater for most dietary requirements, but pls ask.
The tarif on the calendar is per person and includes breakfast and dinner. There is a little creperie/pizzeria in the village and 2km away a more substantial restaurant. We have two bakers, where you can buy fougasse and pizza for lunchtime picnics, an epicure, several little shops selling local crafts, and a weekly market on a Monday morning.
Outside school time there is very little public transport, so you really do need a car. Nearest international arrival points are Marseilles airport (2 hours away, flights from UK and Ireland, BA and Easijet and Aer Lingus) or Valence TGV (train journey from London takes 4-5 hours, and the drive from Valence is 1.5 hours). Cars can be rented in both these locations.
This is an unspoiled part of Provence, wild and empty, the land of Pagnol and Cezanne.
