Descrizione

A lovely Double bedroom with a river side balcony and beautiful views of the woods and stream below.

The interior includes a recycled wool ceiling, soft bedding, fresh, light walls, cosy blankets and a small heater and blankets for chilly evenings. The double bedroom has a balcony and offers a cosy, warm and unique stay away from home.

Our Treehouse is part of 6 accommodations in our wild venue surrounding The Lost Cottage of Penperth. It is set in an ancient oak woodland directly on the bank of the river Fal in Southern Cornwall.
You will have access to our large fire pit area, grand outdoor feast table, hammock area and pirate bar overlooking the river - perfect for evening sun-downers. There is a fully equipped outdoor kitchen including army oven, electric oven and gas hobs. There are male and female toilets, a washing up area, as well as a large versatile barn, with wood burner and indoor seating. All this plus acres of woodland to roam and wild swimming in the river. The Fal estuary is also the perfect spot for kayaking, canoeing or fishing if you have your own equipment. Additionally we can advise on activities and sport equipment hire in the area.

If preferred guests can be met in the parking lay-by and shown down to the venue. If this is not possible, detailed instructions of how to find our secluded location in the woods will be provided.

The Roseland Peninsula is a beautiful, peaceful part of Cornwall. The King Harry Ferry (also known as the moving bridge) makes it extremely accessible to Truro and Falmouth.
The Roseland hosts some of the best beaches on the south coast (Porthbeor, Towan, Porthcurnick and Pendower just to name a few). All great for swimming and beach days and all within 15 minutes drive from our venue. Local villages such as Portscatho and St Mawes provide convenience stores, pubs, restaurants and cafes as well as picturesque views of the coastline. Boat trips from St Mawes to Falmouth run daily and frequently all year round (except in very bad weather).
The Fal river - where we are based - is one of the deepest natural harbours in the world. It boasts beautiful scenery and wildlife. We highly recommend including some time on the river during your stay.

The site is home to Authentic Wild Experience Provider 7th Rise.
We can organise activities such as Foraging, Canoeing, Archery and Bushcraft Survival Skills. Please email us for details.

Whats included at the venue: Gas stoves and canisters, firewood, kitchen equipment, plates, cutlery, cups, small fridge, loo roll, hand soap, washing up liquid, hand towels and drinking water.
The beds all have clean linen, including duvets and pillows.
The site is rustic and communal.
There are currently no shower facilities. We recommend the true wild experience of washing in the river using environmentally-friendly toiletries.
Pack light and bring a backpack as the journey up to the car from the site is uphill and can be muddy at times.

Going to WILD FAL is the most relaxing thing you could do all year. Going to WILD FAL enables you to step away from all the complications of your daily lives & truly embrace what matters the most. The mini adventure of getting there followed by the incredibly warm welcome from the hosts, Izzie & Shelly & their 4 hens (sadly we did not meet Louis) make it that extra bit special. It’s as if you are going to a friend’s rustic outdoor home for a few days. Sitting amongst the trees are simple, fun & empathetic wooden buildings. The tree house is perhaps the most romantic of them all. Gloriously situated within the canopy, lovingly created with practical, but beautiful touches: stained glass windows; fishing nets catch multi-coloured wool bundles in the ceiling make it oh so cosy. Considered windows bring the location’s unique setting inside. Whilst a private balcony allows you take your morning coffee or star gaze outside. Another part of WILD FAL’s charm, wild swimming. The shower facilities may not be conventional, but why not take your adventure that one step further or just remember to appreciate that hot shower when you get home. WILD FAL is by no means primitive, it contains all the essential elements of a rustic getaway. However, there are plenty of cooking facilities, as well as the romance of chopping firewood, lighting the fire, cooking over the open flame. Or cooking in the covered kitchen, there are gas stoves & plenty of pots & pans to cook up a feast. So you never have to leave. Before you arrive, stop off at one of the many local farm shops or fruit & veg stalls that cry out for you to stop on the narrow Cornish lanes, (I would totally recommend Curgerrell Farm, Rosevine, for fresh fish), stock up so you can fully enjoy the remote tranquility of WILD FAL's location. Sit & look out over the estuary inlet, watch the boats pass by, swing in a hammock & listen to the movement of the trees & the chattering bird song. You may even see a kingfisher pass by as you do your washing up. WILD FAL opens up nature’s doorway so you can step through it & marvel at it’s beautiful simplicity. The hosts here encourage you to enjoy all nature’s offerings. My advice: take everything down with you in a large ruck sack & promise yourself to not leave until check out. Disconnect from your daily life & reconnect with nature. But most of all be prepared to not want to leave.

We had a lovely time staying at Wild Fal which is a truly unique and special place. Our hosts instantly made us feel at home and were really helpful throughout our stay. The treehouse is magical and the bed is comfy. We also enjoyed swimming in the river, cooking in the outdoor kitchen and sitting round the fire. All the facilities were as described and perfectly adequate for our needs, and at the same time had a special creative touch which made everything all the more beautiful. We also really enjoyed the foraging, butchering and bushcraft workshop we went on. We hope to visit again and highly recommend it if you're looking to spend time in the outdoors.
