Since I don't have a smartphone, I can only answer on home computer. I work from home so response rate usually quick. (Monday & Wednesday evenings usually out 5.30 - 10 pm. Other nights variable.) Thank you for your patience. I am happy to take short-notice / emergency requests.

DAILY DIARY: For days where I am away from home for longer periods, I leave note below of expected time of return. A normal day is left blank without note.

I consider longer term stays but don't display Weekly or Monthly price.

TWO IN ONE: Guests who stay in the living room have the bonus of this large living room. The living room has been adequately converted into a bedroom for short term stays.
Longer term stays will be considered, but prospective guests may wish to consider one of the two bedrooms and studio
(see 'My Other Listings')

There is a comfy sofa-bed sleeping one or two as seen in the photos.
A 3rd person can be comfortably accommodated in a mobile single bed. (See photos 6, 7, 8, 9.)

For those who prefer an alternative to the sofa-bed, there are 2 single futon beds and/ or a regular mattress bed. However, guests should be aware that the 2nd extra bed will make room slightly congested.

In short, the room is ideally suited for 1 or 2 sleeping in the sofa bed, and a 3rd person can be comfortably accommodated in single bed.

There is now also a large wardrobe and cupboard as seen in the photos.

There is central heating and secondary-glazed windows.

In sum, the living room previously advertised for short-stay guests, is now fully equipped for longer stays.

The living-room can also serve as compliment to main-bedroom next to it (listed as 'Attractive Room' & also visible in photos to living room listing, photos 12, 13, 14).

There is also a bedroom and studio room in the upstairs part of the maisonette listed on AirBnB.

The flat is a beautiful and spacious maisonette in Swiss Cottage, a minute from public transport.

The bathroom has jacuzzi and shower. The toilet has been fitted with a vacant/engaged lock. The bathroom and toilet are separate and next to each other.

A charming kitchen serves as a dining area. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen which has long been the social-hub of the house. Tea and coffee is available; breakfast food is also available on request. However, I do not prepare breakfast for guests. It is an informal arrangement; and the majority of guests to date preferred to make their own meals. Cooking facilities including microwave.

Guests may also request use of the little roof-garden; though it will also naturally depend on English weather.

The flat is a non-smoking place. Alcohol in moderation is fine.
Guests who wish to smoke may use roof-garden or outside the house.
Also no naked flames as candles in the bedrooms.

The neighbourhood has a variety of shops and restaurants,
a farmers market on Wednesday, and other stalls on the weekend outside Hampstead Theatre, a minute from home and the tube and bus stop. At the back of the theatre, there is a green area with playground for children, large sports centre, and library. One need only cross the road for the Odeon film-centre and large pub, The Swiss Cottage, from which the area takes its name.

Best of all, for those who like parks, a 5 minute walk to
the wonderful Primrose Hill, featuring a panoramic view of the city, one of the "Wow" spots of London. A short descent of the Hill leads to Regents Park, encompassing London Zoo, a variety of gardens, sports fields, and the renown outdoor theatre for summer performances. Hampstead Heath is within 10 - 15 minutes walking distance.

The house is a minute from Swiss Cottage tube & buses. 3 stops directly reaches the centre of London. There are also ample buses to the heart of the city. Locally, it requires just a short bus ride or 15- 20 minute walk to reach Hampstead village, Belsize Park, Chalk Farm with its famous Round House (featuring music gigs and a variety of performances), and Camden Market.

The home is sufficiently spacious to offer privacy & sociability
in equal measure. It is also conveniently located to meet
all requirements of visitors to London.

Though check in & check out are flexible, please let me know times as soon as possible. This will help in case of
any overlap with new arrivals. In that case, departees can arrange to leave bags with me until you are ready to pick them up. Thank you.

Guests are welcome to use kitchen. Please be aware others may also use it, and that it is my home kitchen, quite different from exclusive for rent kitchens as in listings with absentee host.

The living-room is available if free and not booked by another guest.

The roof-garden is available most of the time. I work in the attic leading to roof-garden, so guests should request access.

I live in the house, so guests can have as much or little interaction as they like. Of course if I'm busy I will not always be available.

The house is conveniently located close to transport, easy access to central London, popular Camden Town, and various parks.
There is also a sports centre and library a minute from home.

The house is round the corner from Hampstead Theatre, next to Swiss Cottage underground and buses.

All amenities are available on Finchley Road
just a few minutes walk between Swiss Cottage and Finchley Road underground stations.

Quick and easy travel into central London.

A 5 minute bus ride to Camden Town, well known for market during the day and lively night life.

Camden be reached alternatively by a nice 20 minute walk to Camden via Primrose Hill with panorama view of London.

Primrose Hill leads into Regents Park.
Hampstead Heath is a 15 minute walk
via Belsize Park.

The Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre has a pool, gym and climbing wall. There is a children's playground and water feature
in the square. The large local library is next to sports centre.

Underground, buses, and overground to centre of London and all parts of London.

2 night buses, one from central London, the other from east London passing Camden Town.

A 5 - 10 minute walk to Primrose Hill and Regents Park. A few minutes walk to Belsize Park, and 15 minute walk to Hampstead Heath.

I would like to see passport ID on arrival
and will make photocopy of ID with £ 30 deposit for Keys
to be returned with keys on departure.

No outdoor shoes to be worn in the flat.
No smoking in the flat. Drink in moderation.
Smokers can request access to the roof-terrace
or smoke outside, but not on the stairways leading to the house.

I would also appreciate no cooked food outside of kitchen.
This will avoid lasting smells & spillage in the bedrooms.
For similar reasons beverage in bedrooms should be restricted to water & tea etc.

NO CANDLES or any kind of naked flames in the bedrooms.

The home is sufficiently spacious to offer privacy & sociability
in equal measure. I often work late at night, so there is no
problem for latecomers. Though peace and quiet is required
at such time.

Though I will happily socialise with guests,
much depends on the time of visit,
and so guests should be prepared to be largely independent.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DEPART WITH ALL YOUR VALUABLES AND BELONGINGS
On departure I normally check the room with the guest to make sure it is both in order and that the guest has not left any valuables or other possessions.

On the rare occasion that something has been overlooked and turns up later I offer to post it. I do so by initially asking guest to pay for the posting of their choice (stamp, special delivery, package, courier service) with payment requested through Airbnb Resolution Centre. Thus AirBnB deduct from the Guest's booking method, (i.e. card or paypal).

I'm an historical researcher and writer, of both creative and academic works. In the past I've written novels, fairytales, and a piece for the stage. In younger days I used to travel quite a bit, study and work abroad.

I spent most time in Greece, France, Belgium and Holland, Italy, USA, India & Nepal, along with a trip to Brazil following many S.American friends in London. Though, I'm more sedentary these days, my travels in the past few years have been to Berlin & Israel for family reasons.

Among earlier works, a road book based on work in Eye Camps in Nepal.

In the mid-late '90s, an adaptation of a little known but fascinating leaf of human history: a controversial healing of a deaf boy in Napoleonic Paris. Though it has yet to be staged, the piece was of great interest to my favorite theatre director, Ropert Lepage.

Over the past 15 years I've focused on a variety of works (creative & academic) based on the Biblical text of Genesis, and the Shoah (Holocaust).

Though I do not practise religion, I have continuously studied this important part of human evolution.

My own family history in the 20th Century has also dictated my study of the Holocaust. In the last 7 years I began two concurrent books: re: Primo Levi's Accounts of Auschwitz, and a subsidiary monograph on British POWs in Auschwitz. I'm currently preparing the latter for publication, following interest of a literary agent.

I balance my mental activities with physical ones. I exercise daily at home in a studio space, and go for walks in nearby parks of Primrose Hill / Regents Park, and Hampstead Heath. I also swim regularly and belong to a Tai-Chi club (Wu style)

In younger days I used to be an active football (soccer) and cricket player.
I am now largely a spectator of these and other sports mostly on tv.

I also used to be a proficient chess player, and still enjoy the odd game..

I have always enjoyed the theatre, and blues concerts in small & intimate locations.
Over the years I increasingly began to enjoy classical music. I'm in awe of those
who play instruments of any kind.

I enjoy cooking, specialising in hummus and a few other mediterranean dishes.

I became an AirBnB host with encouragement of a cousin in Barcelona who does the same. I recently inherited the flat following the death of my mother. She had a long and varied career as drama teacher, choreographer, body-work practitioner, dance-movement therapist, author and visual artist. Hence the studio in the flat, which continues to be used by others for a variety of activities. My mother's artwork and that collected on her travels largely decorates the flat. Much of the architecture including curved bottom bedroom wall and outstanding bookshelf in the living-room were done 20 years ago by a close Palestinian friend, architect and master craftsman, who is currently undertaking various new refurbishments (some of which can already be viewed in the photos, regularly updated to accord with the changes).

The flat may be most interesting to creative people. But it is obviously not the main reason why prospective guests may choose to stay here, rather the offer of a homely atmosphere in a lovely and convenient part of London. The Guest Reviews to date seem to attest to it, as good-a-guide to the perplexed as any.
