Bright, off-grid, cozy cabin with beautiful sunsets and majestic local and long distance views of Vermont's Green Mountains! Well-furnished, clean and immaculate, well-equipped, and very comfortable. Sources of energy include solar (electricity), propane (indoor gas stove, refrigerator and gas grill) & wood energy (indoor wood-burning stove).
An outhouse is 50' away and it's clean and bright. An indoor commode is available for use at night. Hiking, wildlife, ATV's, photography.

Lo spazio
This cozy cabin with knotty pine walls & ceiling along with picture windows and cathedral ceiling make this special place so rustic and charming. Laced with comfortable & casual furnishings and collections of nature items from the forest puts you more in touch with this lovely mountain setting. Kicking back and relaxing on the farmer's porch brings immediate rest from the business of your world at home. Taking in the incredible westerly view and watching sunsets from the cabin's porch will be highlights of your special escape vacation. Staying in an off-the-grid cabin is great enough but having a propane stove, water at the sink, a solar-powered shower and even a gas grill make the stay a bit more comfortable.

Accesso per gli ospiti
The cabin will become your home away from home and you'll be able to use everything in the cabin that has been left there to make your stay more comfortable. In addition, you are free to wander the 24 acres of land and experience what it's like to live on a large, private, parcel of land.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
FOR WINTER USE!!!! PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING DURING THE WINTER MONTHS: Guests will be expected to reach out and inquire about conditions on mountain between November 1st and April 30th, as we may have have snow accumulation and icy roads that will impact accessibility by car. Shower will not be available once the pipes begin to freeze underneath the cabin. Water will be delivered to the cabin but all wash water may need to be collected in dish pan rather than being allowed to drain down pipe or blockage will occur and water will back up. Guests will park at the bottom of the mountain on the street or in designated parking area to be discussed when guests have booked. Guests need to expect to hike 0.6 mile up hill to cabin during winter months using Hunt Mountain Rd. which is a snowmobile route (Corridor 10) during the winter. There can be some icy/snowy conditions so good foot protection with attached treads or cleats can be helpful for safety. Guests should stay on the main road up the mountain and not attempt to take any side roads or paths off of Hunt Mountain Rd. There's plenty of firewood for free use at the cabin to be used in the indoor wood burning stove. The cabin is toasty warm and there's plenty of warm bedding for your use. The views are even better during the winter months since the leaves are gone from the trees, thus, opening up the view. Owners do have a snowmobile and the means to transport the guest's belongings up to the cabin. Some guests have even hitched a ride on the snowmobile if they didn't want to walk!! The hike does have a couple of steeper hills for a short distance and some almost flat areas. It's a beautiful hike and gives the guest a chance to enjoy the beauty of the woods and stream below. If there are any other questions about winter or summer use, please contact the owners. This is an off-the-grid cabin so your power will be generated from 4 batteries. You will not be able to use a hairdryer or watch movies on a computer as these will drain the batteries too quickly. Upon request, you can borrow a solar-powered cell phone charger which saves power for you since you don't have to turn the cabin's inverter on. You can use our large cooler that you'll need to stock with ice or snow as your "refrigerator" and refill it as necessary. There's also a propane refrigerator on the farmer's porch for your use at the cabin, which stays nice a cool during the winter. The cabin has an outhouse about 50 feet from the cabin but we do provide a "commode" for nighttime use if necessary. There's a double, stainless steel sink where you'll wash your dishes using water that we provide (town water). You'll be heating your water on the stove or on the gas grill for washing dishes or taking a shower. Charging your cell phones is easily done in the cabin with outlets in the corners. Instructions on how to operate items in the cabin are provided in a notebook once you arrive at the cabin. A nice wood burning stove keeps the cabin toasty on chilly days and wood is provided on the porch for you to use. All guests should be fit and healthy enough to hike up 30 minutes (0.6 miles) to the cabin with some steep areas of the road.

On your way to the cabin you'll be traveling through rural countryside, passing by dairy farms and country homes. This is a quiet little town with plenty of farming and agriculture as well as having some nice neighborhoods with more modern homes. On the mountain, there's only one other "occasional-use" home and plenty of private acreage. You're pretty much alone up there and there's plenty of trees and open land on the property.

Although an R.N. by profession, my heart is in the hospitality industry and I enjoy sharing my passion for the mountains and nature with as many people as possible, from all walks of life. My goal is to offer a peaceful, relaxing and most beautiful place for people to escape to in order to re-energize themselves. And, I hope to do this at an affordable rate so many people can enjoy what I have to offer. I have shared 37 years married to a devoted man who is "the wind beneath my wings" and raised two incredible kids - a daughter who is a special education teacher and mother of 4 adopted children, and a chemist son who is pursuing his PhD in meteorology. For fun I enjoy hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, writing, community theater and doing numerous outdoor projects. I feel God has blessed me with the opportunity to share this beautiful place with so many travelers and I hope people walk away feeling refreshed and inspired by the experience of living isolated away from the pressures of life in beautiful New Hampshire.

As hosts, we'll be available throughout your stay, only 10 minutes away, to help you in any way if you need anything. We've even met guests at the bottom of the mountain late in the evening when they wanted help finding their way up to the cabin. Living close to the cabin is definitely beneficial for this reason!
