This cabin occupied my dreams for years before I found it. Off the grid, remote, sturdy and beautifully finished. Suspension bridge access, trails, Uncompahgre Wilderness. Waterfalls, wildlife, spectacular views...from bed!
If you cherish wildness.
Everywhere you look, seams are tight, doors close with a 'thunk' windows seal cleanly. The absence of wifi or cell service is a FEATURE of this place. Silverton is 20 miles away and Lake City is 15 away. Graded roads are rough, but negotiable. Clearance a plus, as is 4wd.
Easiest path is through Lake City.
You have full access. The bridge gate locks to close access. The back 'yard' is the Uncompahgre Wilderness area.

I have skied all over this terrain. The cabin has maps and binoculars for orientation. Finishing a day, in the high country of the San Juans, is a sacred and eternal gift of solitude and magnificence; shower, wood stove fire, sunset upon timberline peaks.
Altre cose da evidenziare
The cabin is at 11,500'. If you have experience with altitude, use it. If not, acclimatization is prudent. A nite in Denver, a nite in Gunnison, before your trip up the hill may do much to allay headaches. (I have a Sat phone in the house for any emergencies) Drink water, graduate your exertion, revel in the purity of altitude.
Do not underestimate the altitude or the drive. Both are uncommon and reward consideration.
Burning it down would be the worst thing, hence no candles or open flames please. As it it solar powered, wood heated and propane fueled, use conservation as your rule. Water, light and fuel is not to be wasted, though there is plenty for your needs.
