Mellors Cottage is situated in the beautiful village of East Budleigh, Budleigh Salterton , East Devon.
The birthplace of Sir Walter Raleigh
Near to Sidmouth,Exmouth, Ladram Bay, Exeter etc.
Part of the Jurassic coast with cliff top walks along the South West Coastal path so ideal for a walking holiday.

L'alloggio

Well Maintained Cottage with
lots Of Character.
Sitting Room & Separate Dining Room
Adequate Kitchen fully equipped for cooking with crockery,cutlery and a washing machine.
Two good sized double bedrooms plus pull out bed on ground floor.
The pull out bed is probably best set up in the dining room if required,
Lovely light and airy bathroom ,unfortunately at present we do not have a shower, (due to be installed soon).There will be a shower attachment to the taps at present.
Ideal if you like a nice relaxing Bath though.
There is also a second W/C on the first floor.
Gas Central Heating.
There is a BT internet router available with BT Infinity tv with the sports package available.
Gas stove to living room.
We have a small shared access garden to the rear ,it is currently awaiting boundary decisions with neighbour, so is not the most delightful garden at present but clean and tidy.(works to the garden anticipated August 2016).

The very pleasant and relaxing Sir Waler Raleigh Pub is next door.
Real Ale pub with good food,no duke box or music
Very quiet so no noise issues.
Definitely worth a visit or two during your stay.

The cottage is of Cobb and thatch construction and is from the eighteenth century ,very quaint and unique but not everything is straight level and perfect,and is typical of a country cottage from this era.
Some of the decor and fittings and fixtures are old world or old fashioned to match the cottages age and construction and are perfectly adequate.

There is no car parking with the house,
I would recommend unloading outside the front door and then parking the car in the free 23 hour car park situated 200 metres away in Hayes lane.
(Directly opposite the Sir Walter Raleigh Public House).
The Mobile phone reception is very poor in the village ,
However , if your phone is compatible to WiFi calling this works very well once connected to the house wifi.
Or , calling etc.
The landline is available to guests for a refundable deposit by prior arrangement .

Excellent cottage with all mod facilities, an easy 5m drive away from Budleigh Salterton and the sea, or 15m drive from Sidmouth, a bigger resort with more shops. We went walking round the coast, some nice walks all around. It's also worth spending a day in Exeter, a nice city with good shopping. Need a car to get out of East Budleigh, but imagine most guests would have driven anyway. Recommended.

Mark's Cottage was fantastic. It was conveniently located, had everything we needed, close to the local shop for basic necessities, bus stop, pub next door if you don't want to cook. It was also very warm which is important in such a cold climate. Home away from home.

This place is perfectly located with good access to Otterton and the coast at Budleigh Salterton. A cute and comfortable cottage with an outrageously comfortable bed. We would stay again for sure

Wonderful stay in a charming village. The pub next door is lovely and you can't hear it through the walls. Excellent place to base your exploration of the area.

My family and I had a lovely week in Mark's cottage. The area is fantastic with a number of places close by worth a visit plus many scenic walks. The house was as described and we had the pleasure of meeting the host himself for a drink in the local which was nice. The house would benefit from the backyard being done-up a little and a working shower (things Mark refers to in his description) and possibly some new pots, pans and crockery. But all in all we were very happy and would happily recommend the cottage and the area. Good value, lovely old cottage in a great area!
