Nestled in the bush on a 40 acre wildlife sanctuary which adjoins a beautiful beach and the Eurobodalla National Park, this is the guest house on our rural retreat.
Merriwarra Cottage is in an incredibly peaceful and quiet spot on the Sanctuary, and the house is completely accessible for anyone in a wheelchair. There is a ramp from the rear access into the house. The house was in fact built for someone in a wheelchair. It is a simple, clean and well laid out house in good condition and surrounded by bush with the sound of the ocean in the distance. This house is ideal for anyone wishing a peaceful relaxed nature based holiday in one of the most beautiful spots on the South Coast of NSW. The 40 acre(18 hectare) property fronts the 14 km long Bingi Dreaming Track (a National Park walking track). The Meringo Lagoon is walking distance from the house and there are two beaches - Mullimburra and Meringo with great surf breaks and wonderful walking. Moruya with its wonderful farmers markets is 10 minutes north by car. There are no other dwellings visible from the cottage, just bush, grass and horses in the distance. At night there are no lights at all visible outside the house and no car or human noise at all. The owners of Meringo Point Sanctuary have established a wildlife covenant on the property and are working to ensure the various habitats across the property are preserved and enhanced for their biodiversity values. Thus bookings for guests with pets are not accepted.
The Property Manager is located next door to Meringo Point Sanctuary if the owners are not there to welcome guests. The owners' home (Koonwarra) is located 5 minutes walk away (and out of sight entirely) to the east from Merriwarra cottage. There is a garage for a single car at Merriwarra.

I love travelling, I am passionate about environmental issues, and I am a fabric artist . I love the outdoors and I love the beach. I am also very Australian - open and friendly - happiest barefoot and in nature. I share my time between London and Australia and our children who are on three continents. I miss our wonderful, spacious, bright, airy and colourful home in Manly and our tranquil rural wildlife sanctuary retreat by the beach south of Sydney and we let both of them on Airbnb. Our house in Manly looks like us I think - bright, full of evidence of our travels and airy. The cottage on our property at Meringo is cosy, secluded and surrounded by nature.
