Hot tub for guests! Free breakfast included. Your western bedroom has a queen bed with adjustable softness/firmness controls for each side. There is a private bathroom. We are a quick 30 minutes from Santa Fe and 1 hour from Taos--through gorgeous countryside to both towns. Our village is historic and quaint with an lovely shrine to visit, and a dozen shops that feature local weaving, woodworking and other hand crafts. One of the most famous restaurants in NM is here, 1 mile from Star Ranch.
You will be staying in our "Bunkhouse" bedroom which features a dual-control, adjustable, queen bed and lovely, antique, western decor. The entrance door to the house is just a few feet from your room. The Bunkhouse bathroom is decorated in a western theme and is for your use only. A privacy curtain allows you to walk between the bedroom and bath without being seen. The bathroom has a large tub and a shower. There is no TV in the guest room, but the internet is available to guests with free high speed Wi-Fi. A ceiling fan, small space heater, room air conditioner and humidifier are available. Many evenings, opening a window is enough to cool the room.
Guests must be able to step up 2-3 steps to get into the house. Once in the house, there are no stairs or steps. Guests are welcome in our main living spaces (dining, library, laundry and kitchen) including the TV room where we can play movies and tv for you up on a wall screen. There is a coffee maker, tea kettle, microwave and fridge available at all times. Our 3 acre property can be explored at any time. Our hot tub and patio are available to guests 24 hours a day, but we request a low noise level in the patio between Midnight and 8am.
Interazione con gli ospiti
We will serve our guests breakfast. We are usually home and are available to answer questions. We speak English and a tiny bit of Spanish. Our village is fairly remote, so we suggest that visitors have their own car. However, if this is not possible, we may be able provide transportation to and from the airport in Albuquerque and rides to local attractions...for an additional fee.
Altre cose da evidenziare
We do not accept guest pets. We have a cat and two dogs. They are very friendly and they have the run of most of the house. We have a small gate to keep the pets away from the guest room and bath. Cell coverage can be spotty in this region. Our house is at 6300 feet (1900m) above sea level. If you have heart or breathing problems, you must take extra care at this elevation. We have shallow steps into the house. If you are dependent on a wheelchair or scooter, we currently cannot accommodate you. There is a grab bar in your bathroom to help with using the toilet and to hold while entering and leaving the tub/shower.
We request that our guests use common courtesy and manners. No smoking inside the house. You may smoke outside on our porches and our patio, but not on our extended grounds due to fire risk. Please, no excessive noise after Midnight; no parties with large groups; no use of illegal drugs or underage drinking. Marijuana is still illegal in New Mexico. Please note the drinking age in the US is 21 years.
I am a 50+ year old wife, mom and business owner. My husband and I recently semi-retired to Northern New Mexico where we are learning to live more sustainably and simply. My health is not the best, so I am constantly challenged to live my life to the fullest with a body that often protests! I love meeting new people and I love staying in B&B's.
