We had a very nice visit at this cabin. The area was beautiful and quiet. I think it would be a perfect place to see the Northern Lights (although due to rain and cloud cover we did not see it the night we stayed). Erna was great to communicate with us and the cabin was comfortable, clean and well equipped. The hot tub was great and having the washer and dryer was also convenient. For people not familiar with the machine settings (at least for Americans, the settings are all quite different than what we use), there is an owners manual in the cabinet right next to the washer and dryer with information.
A note to people planning to use the common area for sleeping. It is a upstairs loft area (so limited head room while standing) and is accessible by a ladder not a stairway. Probably not a problem for most people but families with small children or older (or less agile) adults might find the ladder to be a problem. The two bedrooms were on the main level.
It does not have WiFi but we had rented a mobile hot spot before arriving ($80 for the entire week we were in Iceland) and that served us well for driving GPS and Internet connection throughout the Island. So not having WiFi was not a big deal.
There is also close by an interesting Icelandic Turf House complex. It is called Glaumbær Farmhouse and Museum and was well worth the visit. We were travelling with a 9 year old boy and all of us found the history and culture to be interesting.
I would definitely recommend this home. Wish we could have stayed longer.
