Hapi Zen is a cozy 'off grid' artists cottage located on one acre of land with stunning views of the mountains. It is surrounded by fields of olive and almond trees as far as the eye can see.
30 minutes drive from the city of Valencia and 20 minutes drive to the natural springs in the mountains. Ideal for people who enjoy total privacy, peace and quiet in nature.
Richart, the owner of Hapi Zen, is a well known international artist who paints people's auras. This cozy cottage is his home which he rents out during the summer months.
The interior is colours and the walls have been painted and mosaic work undertaken by him. The cottage artwork is continually evolving, as it is a living art project, so that makes Hapi Zen more of an experience, rather than just renting accommodation.
The energy is supplied through solar panels and water is stored from rain within a water deposit under the house. This is simple living, which provides a unique experience of feeling connected with nature.
The accommodation comprises one double bedroom with adjacent shower, sink and toilet and a second bedroom with a double bed. There is a large dinning / living room with wood burner and a small kitchen with fridge, cooker, storage space, and double sinks. There is plenty of space for parking. You need to drive along a dirt track to get to the house. Follow the white arrows and Hapi Zen sign posts on the side of the dirt track.
As with most places in Spain, it is advisable to drink bottled water. I will provide three bottles of 8 litres of water, but thereafter you will need to purchase drinking water from the local village which is 5 minutes drive away.
IMPORTANT - Please not that because this property is 'off grid' and the electricity is charged through solar panels. Please charge up any electrical devices during the day when there is extra energy and NOT at night as this uses up energy stored in the battery. During the day their is extra energy coming in from the solar panels which can be used. So you need to change your thinking when using an 'off grid' house. But once you get used to it, it is very simple and easy.
Please treat my home with love and respect, as you would for your own home. Thank you.

I am a well known artist in the local area, but originally made my name in Amsterdam and Ibiza. After spending a number of years living as a travelling artist, I have come to settle here near Valencia.
I love it here because it is close to the city, but still very much in the countryside. I love peace and quiet and being in my own bubble. Here I can write, paint and be creative in a number of different ways. I love adventure and like to travel to culturally rich places like Morocco and India.
I am a vegetarian and am conscious about taking care of our planet that we can home. This why I have chosen to live 'off grid' and in the countryside, although I do love the bustle of city life. Valencia is a beautiful city with awesome beaches. I feel very blessed to be living here.
