Location Location Location!
This apartment could not be in a more perfect location for the New York City traveler!
It is situated in Greenwich Village just off famous Bleecker Street. Within short walking distance to the West Village, the East Village, Lower East Side, Soho. All the neighborhoods you've read about are right on your doorstep. Sit downstairs in Caffe Dante as you plan another exciting day in New York City!
I have lived in NYC for over a dozen years and know the city really well. I can help you plan your days and nights out, or you can just relax at the end of a long sightseeing day in the privacy of your own completely separate bedroom. There's a comfortable double bed and plenty of closet space. There's also a TV in the room.
As folks have mentioned, the apartment itself is small, but "your" room is a decent size with a comfortable double bed. I provide you with clean bed linens and towels. The entire apartment is very clean. (Hotel rooms in New York are small too by the way, but this place is much cheaper!)
***In response to the "hot room review", there is an air conditioner and you're welcome to use it!!!***
Arrival time from 3pm.
Departure time 11am sharp unless other arrangements are made at time of booking.
***please note that I have only once had to cancel a booking and, as the guest attests, I gave 2 months notice. I have written to airbnb on two occasions to help with a guest that needed to cancel and have arranged for them to do so at no penalty. I am a very helpful host!***
***As you can see from my reviews, the apartment is very clean and I do my best to make sure my guests have a great stay. I am happy to host guests that can extend me the same courtesy and tidy up after themselves in the bathroom and kitchen. Thanks!***
CHECK OUT TIME IS 11 IN THE MORNING!
The location was perfect for our 4 days NY experience!we loved staying at James house, he was very nice and the room was clean. Thanks a lot!see you next time
Central Greenwich Village was awesome and James keeps an awesome spot for visitors. An eclectic apartment, where you feel like you actually live in NYC. When I go back, it will be hard not to stay there again!
A localização do apartamento é fantástica! Me hospedaria novamente no bairro!
Good place in a great neighborhood. James sent me all the necessary information before arrival and was a helpful host during my stay. Good bed, clean apartment. Recommended.
HOST: James was super friendly and welcoming. We didn't run into him often, so there was no conflict in terms of sharing the bathroom.
LOCATION: Greenwich Village. Very central. A nearby subway station that got us to where we needed to go. Didn't explore too much of Greenwich Village as so much other nearby neighborhoods.
BUILDING: Apartment is on the 5th floor; so be prepared to hike up some stairs--totally doable though. Secure entry. Quiet.
UNIT: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, kitchen, communal space. Admittedly small as advertised, but sufficient. We didn't use anything beyond the fan in terms of controlling the temperature, but we did notice there was an air conditioning and/or heating unit.
BEDROOM: There isn't an actual door with a knob or anything. I would describe it as 2 wooden panels that stay closed with magnets atop. And lockable with a hook and eye lock. The bed is full-sized; the bedding we were provided with included 2 accent pillows, 2 pillows, a sheet, and a duvet. There weren't any pillowcases nor a duvet cover as shown in the pictures. And I slept toward the wall and woke up each morning with new itchy spots/bites on my left arm--not sure if that was a result of the bedding/dust, but just putting it out there. Comfortable mattress, though. There's a mirror on the side and an IKEA lamp which helps with the natural lack of lighting in the room.
KITCHEN: Not quite as organized as the pictures. But it looked like it was clean. We didn't use the kitchen really, but James mentioned we could if we had wanted to.
BATHROOM: Small but clean. Bathtub shower with a shower curtain. James provided us with towels, and we used the hangers in the room to hang them to dry.
OVERALL: We obviously weren't expecting hotel-quality accommodations, but I think we just had different expectations. Nonetheless, James was a great host; his listing wasn't inaccurate; and overall it was sufficient for the bare necessities.
Great location, right in the heart of Greenwich village, can't get any better than that. James is very easy going, laid-back guy and helpful host. We enjoyed our stay there.
