A nice, quiet place to wind down in Pottuvil near Arugam bay, for those looking to catch waves, but not drown in tourism. The price is for a double room with attached bathroom. There are 3 more rooms.
Eddi's is a 10 year-old place, built to accommodate guests on the 1.5 acres of land that's been in Eddi's family for over 100 years. It's a good-looking, simple home, with 4 rooms sharing a nice veranda that overlooks the garden filled with mango, coconut and kohomba trees. A good spot to camp down and learn how to surf, for those who like to stay away from the more touristy Arugam Bay itself.

When we met Eddi (a.k.a. Mister Silva), he welcomed us how we ll like to be welcomed, with a cold drink and a smile. A 63 year-old pensioner, Eddi speaks English well enough to have a real conversation and find out all about his past as a Pradeshiya Sabha minister and owner of a rice mill that produced for the Colombo market. Presently, he lives in a separate home next to the guesthouse, together with his lovely wife. Being the proud owner of a van, he can arrange transport upon request.

Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.
We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.
As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.
In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.
The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
