Originally designed in 1888 by a local wealthy trader named Ioannidis, after he returned from Egypt, Stathopoulou Mansion is named one of the top 25 villa-hideaways of the world that have all the comforts of a hotel according to Conde Nast Traveller Magazine.
The mansion was completely restored, by the engineer Kostas Stathopoulos and it was covverted from to a unique luxury boutique hotel.
The finely located property features a pool, filled with spring water with amazing views both to Saint George village and to the sea of Pagasitikos gulf. According to a legend deep down in the garden well there is a hidden treasure which many have tried to located for ages with no success.
The mansion has been renovated to high specifications and offers comfort, space and location to those wanting a more luxurious option than the typical traditional-style vacations.
Designed and restored to perfection, combining traditional architecture with modern facilities, the 3-floor mansion features all the comfort you need such as cable tv, free wifi, comfortable queen size beds, branded natural products of personal care, modern bathrooms and much more.

Lower lever: this place has an inside cozy lounge with fireplace where traditional breakfast is made from local produce. This area was originally the treasury room where Ioannidis kept all valuables and expensive clothes. The ceiling drawings were inspired by the greek mythology.

Mid level(main entrance of the mansion): This floor has 4 bedrooms. Two with two semi double beds and fireplace, one with queen size bed and one with one queen size and one single bed.All bedrooms features en suit queen size bathrooms.

Upper level: Hermes lounge is located in the upper level and whether you stay or not in our mansion it’s worth discovering it.

Sinking low into a comfortable sofa take a look in the opulent, all-encompassing scene of the ceiling. The Hermes Lounge got its name from the illustration on the ceiling mural of Hermes, God of trade, whereas looking carefully at his feet you may see the goods Ioannidis used to trade. On his left and right there are Zeus and Athena. Displayed in the corners and perimeter garlands of the mural there are various monuments of cities Ioannidis had developed commerce.
There are two more bedrooms at this level. Both of them have a queen size and a single bed and ensuite bathrooms.
Stathopoulou Mansion is perfect for those wishing to escape from masses. Ideal for families and friends, with an accommodation capacity up to 19 people, it is eminently suited to guests looking for more privacy than that provided by a hotel. Its main attraction is undoubtedly, the wonderful breathtaking views and the intuitive heritage feeling.

Agios-Georgios, build on a high and airy position with panoramic views to Pagasitikos gulf, is an amazing place, untouched from mass an altitude of 620m, this village is 21km from Volos. There is a lot of rich vegetation, numerous water springs taps and cobble-stoned paths in the area. During its golder era ,the villare consisted of 1500 households that had developed intensive trade activity of oil produced by the rich olive trees, fruit, apples and peaches, as well as cultural activity.
Agios Georgios has retained the character of the Pelion architecture. As you walk along the traditional cobbled paths you will see some old mansions. Some of these are now open as guesthouses, such as Archontiko Stathopoulou.
In the main square you can enjoy traditional foods with local wine or tsipouro at the tavernas. The surrounding trees provide a cool and relaxing shade in the summer.
The unprecedented natural richness that surrounds the village provides a unique opportunity for exploring the forest, walking and hiking. For lovers of alternative tourism its an ideal destination to indulge in horse riding, mountain biking and jeep safari.

Passing Volos, follow the signs to Tsagarada. After Agria and Upper Lechonia turn left following the sign Saint Vlassios - Agios Georgios - Pinakates. The route from Volos to Saint George takes about half an hour, distance 20km. Stathopoulos Mansion is at the entrance of the village down below the main road.
