BUDGET priced self-catering ‘private & furnished room’ on the Cambrian Coast in Tywyn, surrounded by the Snowdonia National Park.
A lovely modern double room with a big bay window, FREE WIFI & a 32” JVC ‘Smart TV’ is on the 1st floor of St. Cadfans Lodge, being a traditional Victorian stone built property, adjacent to the ancient St. Cadfans Church in the heart of Tywyn, a historic seaside retreat, perfect for sun seekers, local food lovers, Talyllyn volunteers, cinema goers, nature lovers, walkers, surfers & bikers. (bike, kayak & board storage space available)
If you haven't visited this part of Wales before, this lovely bolt hole is an ideal base to experience the West Coast of Wales and the stunning countryside. Tywyn's renowned 'Magic Lantern' cinema & arts venue is just across the road. The main line train station is 5 mins away, as well as the world famous Tal-y-llyn Railway ( the worlds 1st preserved railway) and much more.
Chill out in style and enjoy everything this lovely, but ‘cheap accommodation’ has to offer. The Lodge offers basic, but very comfortable ‘boutique style’ private accommodation, including full central heating and double glazing. There are just 5 furnished rooms, 3 shower-room, (1 with a bath), a large kitchen and a dining room, so ample facilities for the maximum 9 guests.
Room ONE sleeps 2 guest plus optional child put-up bed, with a lovely ‘brass bedstead’ double bed with hotel quality mattress & bedding, mattress & pillow protectors and Egyptian cotton white towels. This room has a lovely feature bay window with a padded seat that looks towards the church. For your entertainment here is a 32” Smart TV/WIFI, 2 bedside tables, shabby chic double wardrobe & chest of drawers. This lovely room also has a ‘feature electric fire’ with fire place surround, a laminated ‘wood’ floor with rugs, ‘designer leaf print’ blinds & tea/coffee making hospitality tray.
With the freedom of catering for yourself, guests have use of a fully equipped large kitchen, with a locked cupboard each, tall larder-fridge shelf each, microwave, ceramic hob, built in oven/grill & an separate combi-microwave & oven with grill, plus a dishwasher.
Opposite the kitchen is a dining room with a view of the church, lovely rattan ‘bistro style’ furniture.
The 1st floor has a bathroom with a shower over, plus WHB & WC and a separate shower room with a WHB.
There is no designated parking, but there are FREE car parks very close, less than 50 yards.

The room is located on the 1st floor of this traditional built Welsh stone & slate property located via a central hall with ‘Milton Tiled floor’ and original wooden stairway. This furnished room is private, you are free to come and go as you please at all times, day and night. Key safe on main door. Easy FREE parking outside 6.00pm till 8.30pm, limited to one hour in the daytime, FREE car park 100 yards. FREE parking on the sea front ALL year.

Situated in the historic part of the town, directly opposite Saint Cadfans Church which dates back to 11th Century. St Cadvans Church is home to the ‘Cadvan Stones’ which are apparently the oldest known inscriptions of the Welsh language. And the recently rediscover 8c ‘sun dial stone’

Tywyn has a sunny west-facing 'Blue Flag' sandy beach. Don't miss the spectacular sunsets over the bay. From early Spring through till Autumn, dolphins and porpoise can be spotted close to the shore, an amazing sight to see! It’s not unusual to see them on a daily basis in pods of up to 20. Tywyn is possibly the only place on the West Coast where you can park for FREE virtually right on the beach. There is level access to the town where there are supermarkets, shops, bistros (you must try' Salt Marsh Kitchen' opposite the market hall) cafes, banks, a post office, cinema, health centre, cottage hospital, several churches, leisure centre and an indoor swimming pool. Just 5 minutes' drive is the picturesque harbour village of Aberdovey, with the famous Aberdovey Golf Course plus several good restaurants & pubs. For watersport enthusiasts and visitors with families, there are uncrowded, sweeping, sandy beaches in Tywyn or Aberdovey (just a few minutes away). Depending on the conditions, Tywyn is a focal point for surfers & kayakers.

Tywyn's renowned 'Magic Lantern' cinema & arts venue is just around the corner. The main line train station is only 5 mins away as well as the world famous Tal-y-llyn Railway ( the world’s 1st preserved railway).

Aberdovey is a well-known wind surfing & sailing centre. Jet skiers are welcome in both resorts. Fishing trips can be arranged in Tywyn & Aberdovey all year round. This area is full of history dating back to pre-historic times. Just get slightly off the beaten track on the dozens of public footpaths and you will come across standing stones, stone circles, abandoned farmhouses, castles & ancient churches

Tywyn is serviced by the the main line railway, Arriva Trains which goes on up the coast a very enjoyable journey. There is also regular buses and 3 taxis.

Close to The Snowdonia National Park, Tywyn is ideally situated for whatever type of holiday you are looking for. Whatever you are into: fishing, surfing, kite boarding, sailing, mountain biking, bird watching, painting, landscape photography or horse riding, there are endless scenic places to explore. This region of Wales is without doubt a 'hidden gem' with some of the most spectacular scenery in Britain. This is a walker's paradise with Cader Idris just a few minutes drive away! Snowdon is only 60 minutes by car and the beautiful Coed Y Brenin Wood, with miles of mountain bike & walking tracks is just 30 minutes drive.Don't worry if you are not the active type, the effortless Mawddach Trail, featured in Julia Bradbury's 'Great Railway Walks' program, is accessible to everyone and takes you on a journey along one of the UK's most spectacular estuaries, brimming with wildlife. There are miles of beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches, as well as many local attractions, such as the Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Railway, which steams from Tywyn up to the mystical Dolgoch Falls. Just a few miles around the stunning Talyllyn Lake towards Corris, is the world renowned 'Centre for Alternative Technology' (or CAT) which is a fascinating place to visit and learn. Close to CAT is The Corris Craft Centre and King Arthurs Labyrinth, another must-visit place.

This is a small quiet lodge with just 5 rooms, we ask all our guests to be considerate to their neighbours at all times and to ensure that no sounds can be heard outside their room between 11pm and 8am.. It's an old building, so noises do travel easily.
No smoking & no pets sorry.

A really greatplace to stay. Convenient and comfotable. It provided the independence we wanted from self catering, but at a great price.

We loved the location and the room. Everything was well decorated and fully stocked. It was quiet, too. We went to the cinema and walked to the beach...had a lovely time there.

Our host greeted us and took us to the room. Very welcoming. A lovely clean and comfy room also with kitchen cupboard and fridge shelf just for our room if needed. Walking distance to the beach and adequate parking.loved our weekend here and hope to be back next year

Comfortable & clean b&b just 2 mins walk from tywyn's main st. We had a great time and would recommend it.
