Located in a serene pocket of Nelson County my home & property balance comfortable privacy and peacefulness with nearby access to breweries, wineries, and outdoor adventures. A private lake is within waking distance! Great for a weekend getaway whether your a lone traveler, couple, or family. We love to host all!

My home has 2 bedrooms available, each room has a queen bed & can sleep 2 people, more available upon request. This room is on the first floor & has an adjacent full bath with a 6' cast iron claw foot tub. There's an upstairs bath that has a tiled shower. You'll enjoy sunrises thru the forest as this bedroom faces East. The location is prime as you will have easy access to many of the best amenities Nelson County has to offer including breweries, wineries, orchards, weekly Farmer's Market, restaurants, hiking (George Washington National Forest, Appalachian Trail, Crabtree Falls, Shenandoah National Park, Humpback Rocks), canoeing/rafting/kayaking (James, Rockfish & Tye Rivers), horseback riding, bird watching, mushroom hunting & fishing. In addition, The Monroe Institute, Synchronicity Foundation and Ligmincha International's Serenity Ridge Retreat Center are all close by. Wintergreen Resort & Stoney Creek are 4 Seasons of fun filled activities the whole family can enjoy. The neighborhood boasts a beautiful private lake and a plethora of mini hiking/walking adventures. I have an awesome fireplace & outside fire circle. My house has radiant in floor heat so it's nice & cozy in the winter. I don't have central AC but I do have window units, a whole house fan, ceiling fans & all the rooms have large windows on at least two walls & some 3-4. My house was built with nontoxic materials. Lots of sun light, fresh air & it's surrounded by forest. I feed the birds in the cold weather & the hummingbirds while they're in residence.

Guest/s will have access to living room, kitchen, upstairs family room, 2 full baths & 3 outside terraces/balcony...1 is covered. A meditation room is available upon request. The home is surrounded by 50 private acres of mixed hardwoods and for the adventurous there's a path that leads to a bold stream.

I live in a finished basement with my own bathroom & separate entrance so I can modulate interaction with you depending on what type of experience you want to have. However, I do need to use the kitchen. My best suit is an active and engaged host who can modulate herself to meet the desires of her guests. Just let me know your preferences.

The house is located on 50 private acres adjacent to The Monroe Institute, which is a quiet residential area with many miles of private roads, a lake and logging trails. All of which guest can explore as long as they are respectful of my neighbors.

In the country you definitely need a car, motorcycle &/or bicycle. On most occasions I can make arrangements for pick up/or return...airport, train or bus station on an as needed basis...price agreed on ahead of time.

I can make arrangements for massages, zero balancing etc appointments. I'm a great cook & I'm willing to fix a meal or two depending on my schedule...we can discuss a fair price ahead of time. I'm also a registered nurse so I may be able to accommodate special medical needs. I can guide hikes, be the designated driver, pick up special occasion flowers etc if my time allows. Please don't hesitate to ask...I'll be fair & honest with what I can & can't do.
I'll love attending to details & proliferating beauty. & joy.

Vicki's place is a spot on top of a rural, beautiful part of Nelson County. The drive is civilized, and all who live there wave as you pass by--this is true Nirvana--we would all hope to finish out our days in such a spot. I'm leaving a wonderful nature filled place to downsize, and I appreciate her care of the land, and I fear for the intrusion on our little acre over the last 20 years. We can't prevent the change that rushes forward--only stay with Vicki for a brief respite in this flight from the advancement on Nature and the Land we have known, somewhere, in my 70 years!!

A great retreat especially if you are looking to take a break from the city life! Vicki is a phenomenal host and she is very accommodating to our needs. Before we got there, she asked us if we needed hiking trail recommendations. When we got there, she showed us how to get to the trails and breweries. It was very easy to get to from her house. After a day of hiking and checking out the breweries, she had a bonfire going for us when we got back. Thanks again, Vicki!

This was an absolutely wonderful stay! The room was private, quiet, and comfortable and the house was unique and beautiful set in a lovely woodland setting. We stayed there for about a week and felt totally at home and Vicki was a wonderful host who was both friendly and attentive. We're from the city and it was a delight to stay in a beautiful, secluded setting where we could see the stars! The next time we're traveling in the area, we would definitely stay there again.

Vicki was a great host. She made us feel very welcome. She was flexible with our arrival. And she seemed to anticipate our needs (and wants). The fire she made in living room was especially nice. The area around the house is beautiful.

Vicki is a lovely person and a great host. We enjoyed very much staying with her, even it was only for one night. Vicki prepared a lovely dinner for us and we had very interesting discussions. She made us feel at home immediately. Vicki’s charming house lays in the middle of the forest. It is wonderfully decorated, perfectly clean and much better than on the pictures and in the description. We felt totally in peace and harmony there. Vicki’s two cute cats reminded us of Laurel and Hardy. They were really funny trying to ignore us and at the same time making sure we notice them. We highly recommend to stay with Vicki and hope to come back one day!

I have been a resident of my beloved Nelson County for 28 years & enjoy showing off all that I've discovered....which is all quite delightful! Overall, I am mindful, caring, considerate and clean. I love to read, participate in cultural activities, cook, hike, garden & meditate. Please come stay in my little spot of paradise! It's very nurturing & special.
