1 camera da letto
Our extra large Travelers Castle Guest Room lets you spread out! Double bed (1.4m), twin bed, and sofa + sitting area, steps to the Girard MFL (metro) stop, 5-15 mins to Center City. Our spacious and sunny Fishtown home is around the corner from nightlife, food and activities in a dynamic neighborhood. Totally private bathroom with awesome shower, double sink & luxurious toiletries. Perfect for group travelers. Coffees and teas in the kitchen; puzzles and games are available for lazy days!
The Travelers Castle gives groups plenty of space to relax and feel at home in Philadelphia! Our unusually spacious row home includes hardwood floors, high ceilings, unusual details from around the world, and a really wide array of books. Your guest room is very large and comfortably furnished, with a full private bathroom just beside the room (*great* shower, double sinks, huge mirror!). ***As of August 3rd, 2017, we've added a super plush foam mattress topper to the double bed to make this bedroom even more comfortable!***
The oversize windows let in beautiful afternoon light, with heavy curtains for sound sleep; the bedroom area includes a double/full (1.4m) bed, twin (single) bed, and hardwood furniture. The sitting room area is furnished with a couch, armchair and coffee table, and there is a writing table and chairs by the window. Plenty of privacy (no other rooms on the same floor). The bedroom door locks with a key.
We'll leave fresh towels and bottled water in your room, and thoughtfully selected toiletries in the bathroom (we usually stock Shea Moisture, Organix, Head and Shoulders, Giovanni, American Crew and Burt's Bees products, with options for those concerned about chemicals or cruelty).
*STREET PARKING* Free and unrestricted at night and on weekends, and free but limited to 2 hours between 10am and 4pm on weekdays; it can take a few minutes to park in the evening on Friday/Saturday (be sure to check signs on other blocks). We've purchased one day parking passes from the city that guests can buy - send us a message if you'll need all day parking during the week!
We may have other guests on the 3rd floor during your visit. Philadelphia is the City of Brotherly Love, and since its early Quaker days, has been known for tolerance, diversity, and inclusion - this is one of the reasons we love living here. As such, our commitment to hosting in a space that is free of discrimination is absolute - whether or not we look the same or have different lives, we want you to feel welcomed and at home. :) If sharing the house with different kinds of folks doesn't fit your style, we're sure you'll find an AirBnb that does.
In addition to the extra large bedroom and private bathroom, guests are welcome to use
- the kitchen
- downstairs powder room
- living and dining rooms
- and backyard
The first room at the top of the stairs is ours, and the third floor is our other Airbnb space, both private areas not included as part of this listing.
You'll find a variety of books, magazines, games and puzzles in the living room - you're welcome to hang out and enjoy them there, or take them to your room and bring them back to the living room later!
NOTE FOR SUMMER: Two blocks from a free community outdoor pool (open late June through mid August). In season, we provide extra towels for the pool!
Interazione con gli ospiti
We'll generally either be out or working from home during your stay, so we're happy to answer questions, but we'll be out of your way. We're both very friendly and like conversation, but also frequently busy during the work day, so if you're a big talker we may want to schedule a longer chat later. :)
Altre cose da evidenziare
We make excellent restaurant recommendations, and are travel enthusiasts - if you're a big traveler, we'll probably really get along! My husband speaks German and Mandarin, and I speak some (limited) French and Spanish.
Laundry is done by Wash Cycle, an eco-conscious laundry service that delivers by bicycle; their detergents are scent-free. When we're doing laundry ourselves, we generally use detergent with a mild scent.
Check in starts at 2pm, and we'll send you details for getting in and settled! Checkout from the upstairs is firmly 11am, but you're always welcome to leave bags downstairs after check out. $25 to replace lost bedroom door keys. $50 Late Checkout Amenity deducted from the security deposit for checkouts between 11am and 12pm (noon).
We don't allow smoking in the house (or vaping that leads to strong smells), but there are ashtrays in the front and back, and you're welcome to hang out either place. **AirBnb supports hosts in cancelling reservations, without refund to the guest, for breaking these rules.**
If it's muddy or wet out, please take off shoes near the front door. No windows open if it is raining or if you're leaving the room, please.
Small list of no's:
No baths (showers only)
No excessively loud noise
No more than one Guest of Guest in the house please, unless we OK it ahead of time, and no Guests of Guest after 10pm. (*Any guests staying overnight must be on the reservation.*)
No leaving the front door unlocked - please lock the door when you're coming or going.
Other rooms in the house not described in the listing are our private spaces, or part of our other Airbnb space. Please only use areas of the house described in the listing to avoid confusion with other guests. Looking forward to your visit!

We love traveling and understanding how things work (our work involves manufacturing). Also plants - we'll tell you all about our plants, but only if you're interested. :) We're also big fans of history, philosophy, theater and Star Trek. Since we used to live in NYC, we now appreciate large, airy, uncluttered rooms, so that's what you'll get when you're our guest! We love meeting new people, so AirBnB is great for us. Sarah started out using her middle name, Kate, on AirBnb, but recently switched back to using Sarah to avoid confusion.
