The oldest homestead in Cochecton NY. Beautiful river view with access to the river. 3 Bedroom/ 2 baths. 9 miles from Bethel Wood Performing arts center. Close to Callicoon and Narrowburg, restaurants, movie theaters and art gallery's

Curtis Drake Homestead circa 1812 is located in beautiful Sullivan County NY. The home is a New York State Historical Registered Landmark situated in the town of Cochecton, NY, with a full view and access to the Delaware River.

Whether or not you are a history buff, a civil war aficionado, fisherman, or just visiting the original site of the 1969 Woodstock Concert our home offers it all just a stones throw from our doorstep!!

The Homestead is a perfect place to enjoy a weekend away from the city, and or a few weeks respite from the grind of everyday life. It allows you to step back in time, slow down your pace, enjoy nature, art, music, or just do nothing!!

The home has a long history spanning from the late 1700s to present day, hence it is three separate structures fused together, the first built in the 1812, the second in1840 and the last in 1850 enclosed by a slate wall and porches situated on six acres with three wood burning fireplaces. The highest ceiling is 6' 7” and the interior of these structures have been preserved providing the ambiance of 19th Century living with up to date modern conveniences.

Our home can accommodate a total of 7persons with 3 bedrooms. Master bedroom on the first floor with queen bed, two bedrooms on the 2nd floor one with a queen bed, and one with 3 singles. The entire home is available for rent or you can just rent one of the lovely bedrooms and your hosts will be on hand to guide you during your stay and provide you with a lovely breakfast.

On the first floor there is large family dining room with a sitting room (this is where the sofa bed is located). There is a large parlor with a fireplace that has access to a back porch with an awning that opens up to the grounds at the back of the Homestead. Off of the parlor is a large master bedroom with a Queen Bed and wood fireplace. To the left of the dining room is a large family kitchen with a wood fireplace, a full bath and a front porch with an awning.

The driveway supports four plus automobiles.

We had hit some traffic jams and arrived an hour plus late. I had called and Joe was just lovely, assuring us not to worry. He and Bernadette greeted us when we finally arrived. They had started fires in the two wood stoves and the house was very cozy. They gave us a great tour, and instead of a list of "don'ts" the tour was all about the "do's." Their home is inviting and spacious. They left us food for breakfast, totally unexpected! The location is beautiful. Across the street is an amazing view of the Delaware River. We were able to watch deer crossing the river both mornings.

Joe, Bernadette, and Donna were extremely gracious and accommodating! The house was very well maintained, and Joe offered to light the fire place for us when we were gone to ensure that the house was warm and comfortable. Excellent location close to Woodstock.
