The tour was amazing, the driver picked us on time and we enjoyed the ride to the village. Our guide told us cultural stories and told us about the history of the village. We had cup of tea then walked around the village visiting the kindest and cutest grandma in the village! The lunch was authentic and we couldn’t leave without buying beautiful carpets! I would totally recommend the tour to everyone.

This was such an amazing and unique experience! The drive to the village was beautiful. You arrive in a completely different world. The history and techniques and patterns were so well explained and the passion for this art form is palpable. It was great to be able to experience weaving a few rows of beautiful carpet and make new friends. And the lunch was soooooo delicious. I ended up buying 2 gorgeous carpets and they shipped them home for me for free! Unforgettable experience.

There is nothing better than meeting someone who loves their work- it shows on their face, their smile, their approach to life. Engin, the gentleman who runs the place, is warm, welcoming and lovely. We drank Turkish coffee and tea together, had a superb lunch made form ingredients sourced from the estate, and he told me about his family’s history in the rug business passed over generations. His sister demonstrated how flat weave and double knot (Turkish knot ) rugs are made and I even had a go myself at knotting. The estate is calm, peaceful and surrounded by mountains and gorgeous trees. Inside, Engin showed me all types of Kilim and thicker pile rugs - most vintage, some recently made using traditional methods, all stunning. It never felt “salesy” but I couldn’t resist buying a few. Regarding the driver- he was brilliant too. Picked me up from my hotel on time and even stopped at the clinic on the way back for my PCR test. Everything was beyond expectations and I feel like I’ve made new friends. Highly recommended.

It was an interesting tour to go to a small village and learn something new. The host was friendly and it felt like a very local experience. The only thing is, you don’t get to really see any of the village, just the carpet place.
