We had an unforgettable experience with our guide Alfonso. It’s hard to put into words what I gained from this, it was far beyond just knowledge. I recommend this with all my heart to anyone seeking to connect with nature, to grow in understanding of indigenous perspective and culture, to be a learner on how to take an active role in Reconciliation, to humbly share and to gain knowledge.

This tour was amazing! I really recommend this for anyone who wants to learn about the original uses of the land in Stanley park and its history, it was so interesting to hear it from someone who is so connected to the land and cares so much about the area. My guide was such an amazing storyteller and obviously cared so deeply for the park, which made the tour so much more personal. Thank you!!!!

If you are sensitive about the world you live in and everything that surrounds us, I warmly recommend you take this tour. Our guide, Alfonso, shared personal stories, explained in detail the types of trees and the use the natives have given them since time immemorial, highlighted the connection him and his ancestors have had with nature, their coexistence, them providing and taking care of each other. Great experience!

Alfonso did an excellent job explaining how First Nations people utilized and valued the forest. He covered a lot of ground and was organized in his approach. The passion that he has for this subject matter really shone through. I would recommend this tour for anyone (tourists or locals) who wants to learn about First Nations practices.

The tour was a truly special experience and worth every minute. Surrounded by the ancient trees and listening to Alfonso's story about the history, culture, and technology of his people who have inhabited this land for thousands of years, we felt privileged and humbled to have the opportunity. A must for any visitor or in fact any "local" (I've been living in GVRD for 20 years..) who wants to really understand the beautiful place we live in.
