Cosa farete

Our family has been making bread for 30 years, and we have inherited a 100-y/old brick oven and wooden tools for bread-making from our gran-grandparents. We teach our guests the secrets of perfect bread in the house where we grew up, where everything smells like traditions: here, our ancestors made mread for their huge families, and you’ll breathe that feeling. My mum has transmitted this heritage to me, and we want to keep it strong. No recipes: simply ancient gestures, old wisdom, and family sharing. We’ll revive together one of the pillars of the Sicilian tradition: for huge and poor families, breadmaking was not only a need, but also a moment of family unity: they gathered around a table, enjoying little things. We will offer you the same feeling. We’ll follow the traditional steps, using our ancient tools, while tasting some homemade bread. We will prepare with you the bread dough in our wooden ''maidda'' (in Sicilian), then we will bake it in our 100-y/old brick oven, to maintain our ancestors' teachings intact. In the end, we will prepare a typical ''Pani Cunzatu'', bread filled with local products, just how our ancestors have done for centuries: a journey in a breaded past!

You will learn how to make bread in our brick oven (one hundred years old as well!) that we take care of continuously, to preserve it intact. You will use all our tools that my mom, Dina has inherited from her gran-grandparents, who used to make bread for their huge families in the village, and you will learn all the tricks my mom has learned from her mom and taught me.
