This is a full-immersion experience of Sourdough bread baking. You'll learn all you need to know to bake exceptional bread and engage in an outdoor baking experience using a wood-fired natural cob oven at an idyllic location in the wilderness of a national park in Tuscany. Go from grain to bread in a day. We'll start in the morning with an intro to the basic method of preparing the dough. While the dough is rising we'll explore the details of creating the 'starter', managing the fermentation, milling flour, shaping techniques, preparing the wood-fired oven and more. We'll also discuss the health benefits of sourdough vs commercial yeast bread. And if there's time/interest we can also explore other fermentation products that i enjoy such as sauerkraut and kombucha While your dough is in the final stages of rising we'll take a break to make your very own delicious pizza which you will eat for lunch! After lunch we'll bake the bread which will then be yours to take away. Due to our incredibly unique location and the distances involved to reach us we offer the opportunity to spend a night at the farmhouse to make the most out of this experience. Hello! I have over a decades worth of experience hosting and catering for groups in the wilderness of Tuscany, and i just love the off-grid lifestyle that comes with it. My passion for baking started when i built my first wood-fired oven back in 2012, and i've been baking Sourdough bread and pizza devotedly for the past 3 years. Since then i've always had a bowl of dough sitting on my kitchen counter which i tend to obsessively. My guests appreciation of my bread motivates me to create the best loaf possible. It's the most satisfying thing i do in my life. I just love baking bread!

The venue is an off-the-grid stone farmhouse nestled within a national park - in fact it's one of the largest areas of uninterrupted forest in Europe. Just under 2 hours from Florence, you will experience complete peace and quiet to relax and get back in touch with nature. As well as an ideal opportunity to focus on bread and pizza baking, this spot is a great place for walking and there are many natural pools nearby to take a refreshing dip.

The venue is not reachable by normal car so we will meet in the local Pizzeria in the village of Rimbocchi and you will be driven up to the house in our open-top 4X4 Landrover Defender.
