Walk, Explore & Eat in three of México City's iconic markets where you can buy fruits, vegetables, spices, mexican toys and clothes, piñatas, mole, spells, amulets, candles, animals, exotic meats, insects and artisanal hot sauces & more. You'll have the opportunity to learn about the life of local sellers in the markets. We'll meet at the meeting point and then take the public transport (Metro) to visit the first market. At La Merced we'll walk through the aisles and had a Mexican breakfast (Quesadillas with or without cheese, Tlacoyos or Gorditas) after you'll have the opportunity to try different types of mole, mexican fruits and vegetables. Then, at Sonora Market, we'll venture into the aisles dedicated to medicinal plants, magical items, and various other items that demonstrate the syncretism of beliefs and practices that exist in México. During the walk, I'm gonna tell you stories of the market, the city, and Mexican traditions. Don't forget try the best tacos in the city. For the end, we'll take public transport and visit San Juan Market, which specializes in gourmet and exotic foods. Here we'll taste grasshoppers & mezcal. I tuoi host
Ho: Norteño and engineer from Mexicali desert. During the last 20 years I have lived & traveled all over the country, mixing my passion for Mexican food and drinks, markets and the warmth of people I founded Experiences Market a company that seeks to show the colors, smells and flavors of Mexico from a local perspective creating unique and authentic experiences for all those who have joined since January 2018. Aremy: Born and raised in Mexico City, I consider myself a Chilanga with Tehuana heritage. My mother is from one of the most traditional regions of Oaxaca (Tehuantepec Isthmus), and she taught me the love for our traditions and the culture of our country. Zabdi: I'm such a foodie and food is for sure one of the main reasons why we travel right? To me is one of the best ways to grasp what a country is really all about.
