Cosa farete

You're welcome to participate in a Japanese tea ceremony hosted by me. It will be held at my private family home in Tokyo, where the atmosphere is very cozy and friendly for up to six guests. First, we will gather in the tea room. Once the ceremony gets started, I will discuss its nature and give you a brief history. I will serve you a seasonal sweet and a bowl of tea as part of the demonstration. I will also explain the basic rules of etiquette and rituals on how to drink matcha green tea, so you may enjoy the tea even more. At the end, I'll invite you to make your own tea as well. Lastly, I would like all the guests to have a bonding experience of mindfulness, respect, and focus on the present moment we all share.

Maiko

My grandmother, aged 85, and my mother, aged 63, are professional Japanese tea ceremony teachers. I have been taught by them from an early age—almost 20 years in total. They have been teaching it for over 40 years, and some students started coming to class before I was born. After living abroad, I realized even more how important cultural heritage is. I would be happy to become a bridge between Japan and the rest of the world through the Japanese tea ceremony. It is a lifelong study for me, and I will pass that onto my family in the future as well.

Dove ti troverai

We will conduct our experience in a tea room built specifically for our house. It's a good size, but not super spacious. Every tool we use for the ceremony is valuable, and some of them are nearly a century old. A wide range of tools are available and used for different events, according to seasons.
