"The Hideaway Twin Bed is located in the basement, through the kitchen and down the staircase. Take a left down the hallway and enter the laundry room door on your left just before the bathroom. The listing is a space adjacent to the laundry room, without a separate door and that the laundry room is locked with a key that only the guest and the house cleaner have. The house cleaner will have access to the laundry room from 11 am to 4 pm, but nobody has access after that and they will never walk into your space which is separated by a 3 panel wicker privacy screen. The room is furnished with a twin bed, small fan, reading lamps and closet space with hangers. Affordable, refurbished condo directly in the heart of Fremont. A walker's paradise!
This condo is a "garden unit" with plenty of natural light in the mornings (windows face East). Newly renovated, the unit features hardwood floors, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a wide rain shower-head in the bathroom. Here's the deal: my listing is affordable because it's for a very distinct type of person. Are you looking for a comfy couch to crash on? Or perhaps an air mattress instead? Save yourself some money if you're not here in Seattle to stay indoors and just need a safe, clean, and friendly place to crash. There is a designated parking spot available in the back of the building, which is protected by an electronic gate (I'll provide you with the code). The unit has a back patio that you can use to enjoy the fresh air and sunlight (yes we get sun in Seattle!). I have some camping chairs that you can place outside if you'd like.
The condo sits 1 city block away from N 36th Street, which is the main "strip" of Fremont. It's about a mile-long stretch of quirky coffee shops, good eats, boutique clothing stores, breweries, and even a chocolate factory...there's a lot to see! On Sundays, there is the Fremont Sunday Market, which never disappoints. The famous Burke-Gilman Trail is which is a 27-mile biking/walking trail that cuts through Fremont filled with scenic views There's some quirky sights to see, such as a 16-ft statue of Lenin, or a famous art sculpture of a monster crushing a VW Beetle under the Aurora Bridge called the Fremont Troll.

Small, non-smoking windowless room with a twin bed in a pet and smoke free house with a shared bath is warm, cozy, quiet and one block to the bus line to downtown. In Fremont, a hip and interesting neighborhood to explore. Wi-fi, access to kitchen, laundry, computer and living room. Please check in by 10:00 p.m. No curfew after that.
This is our home where we live and ask that you check-in by 10:00 p.m., then feel free to head back out. There is no curfew. Small, windowless, dark, warm, quiet room with a new, firm twin bed and small desk, nothing fancy, but perfect for the traveler on the go. Roomy closet. Radiant heat floors. Pet-free. Wi-fi available. Smoke-free. Parking on the street never a problem. Ten-minute walk to downtown Fremont, one block to the bus. No private bath, but an additional bathroom upstairs, so never a line. The room, as described earlier, is very warm -- most sleep with the fan on especially in the summer. Towels, robes, water glasses provided. My husband and myself will make your stay comfortable.
Some don't-miss aspects of Fremont: Theo's, the nation's only bean-to-bar organic, free trade chocolate factory, call to reserve spots on an unforgettable tour. Lots of options for food including, Mexican, Thai, Indian, Japanese and more. Coffee shops of course, this is Seattle! We are one block from the ship canal with picnic benches. A new distillery with a tasting room just opened up, and a very happening place with 32 hard ciders on tap. Very pedestrian friendly, Fremont will surprise the casual walker with a rocket, a statue of Lenin, a larger-than-life troll under the bridge, ivy dinosaurs and cement people waiting for a bus. And clowns dancing.

A derelict purchase in 1979, we have lovingly restored our traditional 1907 home. Attention to detail and craftsmanship make our home unique, and we are excited to share it with guests from all over the world. Two private rooms and a bath on the upper story are yours to enjoy!
The space consists of a large master bedroom with 2 walk in closets in restored 1907 house. The bathroom is off the hall and reserved for guest use. We have provided robes and slippers for your comfort and convenience. The larger of the walk in closets contains a small partial kitchen for guest use, as the main house kitchen is unavailable for guests. It includes a small refrigerator with freezer, microwave, and electric tea kettle. We have provided dishes and basic utensils for guest use. There is also a small iron and ironing board located there. The second walk in can be used for guest clothing. It also contains some games, toys and books for your enjoyment. Guests with children will delight in our unique hidden cubby hole, with a chair that converts into a ladder for access. There is a large sink with a bar faucet in the bathroom that can double as a place for washing dishes. Dish soap is in the cabinet below, along with a small dish drain and absorbable mat. You will also find a hair dryer, extra towels, cleaning supplies, and bath supplies. A coffee pot, mugs, coffee, tea and sweeteners are on the bathroom counter. For single groups larger than 2, an additional room can be made into a second bedroom by folding out the full size sofa sleeper with memory foam topper. There are stairs involved, since this is the upper level of the house. Also to note, the house is on a hill, about midway up.
Our neighborhood is called Fremont...the self-proclaimed center of the universe! It is located about 3 miles north of downtown Seattle. It is a very walkable neighborhood with many coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, shops, Trader Joes grocery, PCC - a natural food Co-Op, and a large Fred Meyer grocery and super store (like a Walmart). There is even an organic chocolate factory in the neighborhood...offering tours and free samples! There are a lot of local neighborhood art installations as well. And if you are into pubs and breweries, there are a number of them within walking distance. We also have tons of restaurant choices. Downtown is a short bus ride away. We are close to the Ballard Locks, several parks, and a beach. There are Sunday markets in both Fremont and next door Ballard. We have provided walking tour maps of the neighborhood for your enjoyment.

An inviting charmer in the heart of walking friendly Fremont. 900 sq. ft. newly remodeled with all new appliances. A great front porch for relaxing in the open air, full kitchen with dishwasher, laundry room, wifi and 55 inch TV. Queen and Full bed. Convenient access to PCC (groceries) and dozens of restaurants and bars all within a few blocks. For the full Guidebook with categories of local attractions including addresses visit; https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/20137424/Guidebook
The house was built in 1900 and has been in my family for almost 60 years. It has a beautiful light-filled bay window that overlooks the street and gets great afternoon sunshine. The front porch has been expanded to allow groups of 4-5 people to sit and enjoy interacting with the active neighborhood street. Within 2-3 blocks of the house the neighborhood has an extensive collection of art, bars, coffee shops, restaurants, music venues, grocery store, and an elementary school with newly remodeled playground, and Theo Chocolate Factory offers delicious tours daily. Greenlake is an easy mile and a half walk away - just walk to the Woodland park zoo (1 mile) then across upper Woodland Park to the lake.
Two of the more popular attractions in the neighborhood are the large statue of Lenin and the Troll Sculpture. Both of which are within about 3 blocks of the house. Like the rest of Seattle I really enjoy morning coffee at one of the local coffee shops. Cafe Ladro is my favorite, but Fremont Coffee has a great homey feel and you can always find Starbucks, but Milstead is a wonderful local alternative. In the evening I enjoy happy hours at Fremont Brewery, Shawn O’Donnells, Norm’s (dog friendly) or the Red Door. If I’m in the mood for live music The High Dive and Nectar have a great selection of bands playing nightly.

Great apt near Fremont's popular Center of the Universe. PRIVATE and secluded on a side street! Near the Troll, Lenin, clubs, Theos , views, Fremont Brewery, trails & convenient buses w/easy access to markets. 1920's home. Plus extra large bath towels, chocolate & wine, & comfy queen size bed! Granite counter tops. Garden outlook. Great location...situated on a hill overlooking the canal and "village." Burke-Gilman trail. Walk score 87. About 650sf with tasteful updates and free parking.
Charming, well laid out, and welcoming apartment, with a comfortable bed. I love offering this place to stay in one of the city's very popular neighborhoods. Buses are available to take you to most interesting tourist areas and in walking distance. The cute turquoise dining table w/ table cloth is great for two or three guests. It's a lovely Fremont getaway with prime location and lots of charm. There is a western exposure with good natural light, though less on cloudy days. Comfy bed! The bathroom isn't large but has a huge traditional bathtub - great for soaking and a heater to keep it cozy. There is bike parking in the lower basement. You can walk everywhere in Fremont, and also to the SPU campus, Wallingford, the Burke Gilman Trail, the Fremont Solstice Parade, Gasworks Park, etc. Tucked away on a lovely "country lane" you get the feeling that you are far from the city. Back yard is available and has a fire pit. Outside your back door: Expect plants and flowers to bloom and grow throughout spring summer and early fall; from late Oct to mid March the famous gray sky prevail; enjoy the well loved fire pit, pick herbs and raspberries in season right outside the kitchen door. Take a walk: Fremont has a super walk score of 87 - Walk into the 'village' of Fremont for groceries, shopping, night life, the troll, and a stroll along the Burke Gilman trail. Just be prepared for a steep hike up Phinney or Dayton north of N39th Street. There are lots of stairs that take the place of streets in the hillier sections. Check them out. (The apartment is on the south slope of Phinney ridge, and you can easily take the hill down to Fremont center on foot, with that hike on your way back. Bus: Buses are nearby (5-10 min walk) to take you to downtown, South Lake Union, UW, Ballard and more. All are within 20-30 minutes on the bus. Take the 5 to Pike Place Market or Greenwood. Bus info provided. Orca Pass provided on request with 5 days notice. More: The kitchen is great and you have your own private entrance with a garden outlook. Comcast wifi is provided. Chromecast is available on the big screen too. The laundry room is a few steps away in the owner's area through the door next to the stove. NOTE: Please make appointment for use. QUIET? In general the apartment is very quiet and, you do hear people moving overhead. Since there is a no shoe rule upstairs too, the noise is pretty muffled, typically. The times you might notice movement are in the morning before work, and after 5:30 in the evening. With the shoes off policy people noises from upstairs are rarely an issue or commented on by guests. Now and then a late night or a holiday gathering might be noticeable but the house is typically quiet. Notify the host immediately if you are disturbed by upstairs noises. For BATH lovers, the tub is extra long and great for a long soak. Please don't used deeply colored bath clays or other spa type ingredients as they stain the tub. There's a wall heater in the bathroom so you can always be super cozy - and a separate light across from the tub, just be sure to turn down the wall heater after leaving the room! Vizio 40" flat screen, connected by Chrome Cast via wifi: whatever you get on your smart phone or iPad will be viewable. Be sure to sign up with chrome cast before leaving home so you have immediate access! Neighborhood notes: From this 1921 updated Seattle frame tudor, you can walk this neighborhood of great homes that are older, renovated, newly built or quite unique. It's a section of Fremont that is quiet and residential and yet close to everything. You can take the stairways on your local walks to explore the area with all its very neat nooks and crannies. Go up to N42nd Street on Phinney Ave (for a great workout). If you turn right onto Francis Ave., you can walk down this dead end street checking out the small side street and the great homes and views. And at the very end is the house that overlooks my parking area! I'm on what would have been Francis Ave had the street plummeted over the bluff and continued down to N. 39th Street. Highly urban with an amazing country feel, come away to peace and comfort. Downtown: 12-20 min drive & 20-30 bus Pike Place Market: 12-20 minute drive Ferries: 12-18 min drive (Coleman Dock) to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton and 20-25 min drive to Fauntleroy Ferry dock to Vashon Is and Southworth Fremont shops: under 5 min (drive & park) Check out Burnt Sugar at 35th and Evanston with the rocket ship at the corner; Les Amis (a French clothing store); the Fremont Sunday Market (34th and Evanston); the topiary dinosaurs (34th and Phinney Ave); Market Time and the PCC (our two local grocers); Bus stops: 3-4 within a 10 min walk UW: 15-25 min. drive and park depending on destination SPU: 5-7 min drive; 20 - 30 min walk TROLL: 5-10 min walk Burke- Gilman Bike Trail: take Phinney Ave down hill past Theo's Chocolate to the trail. Fremont Art Council "Power House": 4-5 min walk Ballard: 10-15 min drive to shops and great restaurants Woodland Park Zoo: 5 min drive max! Green Lake: 5-10 minute drive; 15-20 minute walk to path. Other favorites: Discovery Park, Carkeek Park Gas Works Park University Village Golden Gardens and Shilshoe Marina Fremont Bridge Queen Anne Hill Wallingford and Phinney Ridge Ballard Ship Canal Locks w/fish ladder Prize winning downtown public library Ballard Avenue shopping and Sunday Market Fremont Sunday Market Note that prices change from Spring to summer. 1. Laundry room is outside your back door on the right in the older section of the basement behind the curtain. The light switch is above on the ceiling over the dryer. You walk past the water heaters on your right and the electrical panel on your left. This area is a very old Seattle 1920's basement-like feel but concrete and laundry room are painted! 2. Fire pit - check with host regarding fires and burn bans - please provide replacement wood from supermarket if you use a lot, and keep a pail of water near by to douse coals when you are done! 3. Parking is in front and there is room for three vehicles or four. Street parking is plentiful as well. (See photo of gravel parking area) There is a designated parking spot for the apt. by the stairs/next to the fir tree. 4. Recycle/Compost/Garbage Seattle is strong on recycling. There are three bins to use: Recycle clean paper, plastic (not individual bags however), metal and glass in the small, dusty yellow IKEA garbage can. Put all compostable items including bones in the dark pink compost bin (small) next to the front door. All other garbage goes in the open bin under the sink. The apartment is your private home away from home. Once you have been welcomed and shown around the apartment, or you pick up the key, you will be completely at home, and unless there are items you need or a problem of some kind, the interaction can be minimal. It's up to you. If you are new to airbnb, I request a reference if you haven't yet received a review. How many ways do I love my neighborhood? Hard to count. It just gets better and better as does Seattle in general. I will post more here later but Fremont is a great area to choose for your visit - location, amenities, fun things to do, great shops and restaurants, live music venues …. Bus transportation works here. The 5 and the 28 are good choices. The stops are within a few blocks between a 5 and 10 minute walk. You can walk everywhere in Fremont, as well as take a long walk to Green Lake via the Woodland Park Zoo on N 50th Street. There are many stairs that take you from one street to the other in the neighborhood. It's always possible to get in a good morning or evening walk to your favorite cafe, park or night spot. Taxis are an option for more distant locations in the city, or try UBER which is popular here. Uber is an Application driven taxi service - check it out. It's reliable and less expensive than a traditional taxi. CHECKING OUT: Please leave the apartment as you found it. Leave the key on the table or under the mat if requested. Other notes: Don't strip the bed (sheets and pillow cases) or remake it. Adjust the wall thermostats to a little below current temperature setting by listening for the click and dialing a bit lower that that. And let host know if there is anything that didn't work well or needs attention that could be overlooked by housekeepers; leave the living room light on low when you leave and the key on the kitchen table. Thank you for your visit and please come again!

The apartment faces west and overlooks the back garden with a covered patio where you can have breakfast in the morning or have a glass of wine as the sun sets. The apartment was remodeled within the last 3 years and the bed and bedding are all new in late 2018. While there is not a kitchen there is a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and kettle all of which are also new. The apartment has two rooms with folding doors between, a bathroom and is self-contained with its own entrance.
We have dogs in our house which are great with people but territorial with other dogs so we are unable to accept guests with pets. While parking is challenging in many parts of Seattle there is always plenty of street parking on our street. The garden is terraced with steep drops so it is unsuitable for young children.
Fremont which is locally known as 'The Center of the Universe' has a long history of being an areas popular with artists. In the last 15 years many restaurants and bars have opened where you can enjoy a variety of types of food. Although there is a lot of night-life we are far enough away from the bars that we are not disturbed by their noise. One of the pleasures of Seattle unlike many US cities is that it has many neighborhoods where you can wander and browse the shops, Fremont Sunday Market and antique mall and take some time to choose what type of food you want to eat. The Burke-Gilman trail is close and is a great walking and cycling path that you can follow for many miles if you have the energy. Further away there is a salmon ladder and a botanical garden at the Ballard Locks where you can watch the many types of local salmon make their way upstream to spawn or watch a variety of working and pleasure boats going through the locks. Golden Gardens is about 4 miles away on Puget Sound and has a sandy beach with a great view of the Olympic Mountains. We are just across the canal from Seattle Pacific University and 2.5 miles from the University of Washington which is accessible by a bus from near the house. It is one mile to Woodland Park and the Zoo. It is just over 2 miles to Green Lake which has a walking, jogging and cycling/ roller blading path where you can do 2.8 mile laps round the lake while enjoying the great view. It is also 3 miles from the high-tech center of South Lake Union and there is a direct bus that you can catch nearby. Several buses will take you downtown and it is an easy drive depending on the time of day. It is a perfect location for newcomers starting jobs in Seattle's tech industry who want temporary accommodation while looking for something longterm.

This is a MIL studio below my family home, it's close to The Nickerson Street Saloon & MANY other restaurants/shops, Gas Works Park, Fremont, Downtown, Woodland Park Zoo, Ballard Locks, Burke Gillman Trail, UW, Fremont Sunday Market (year round), Seattle Center (Pacific Science Center, Space Needle, MoPop), Lake Union, MOHAI, bus lines. My place is good for couples, traveling nurses, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
The bedroom is open to the rest of the unit, but it is separated by a half wall. (This unit has low(ish) part in a section of the ceiling and one lower than typical doorway. If you are tall (over 6ft) this may not be the most suitable place - unless you can remember to watch your head under that section of the unit.
Walk across the Fremont Bridge to the Sunday Market and all of the Fremont shops, bars, and restaurants.

Best Seattle location for busing everywhere. Country in the city atmosphere. Near U of Washington & Seattle Pacific U. Buses nearby (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) min to SLU, Pike Market
Charming 1920's frame Tudor with many updates, and artsy touches. This location is great. You can visit Seattle and the surrounding areas all day and then return to Fremont and enjoy the "village" shops and neighborhood! On warmer days, until mid October if we are lucky, enjoy the "dining" table on the deck just off the kitchen. Evenings are perfect now for a fire in the newer fire pit. The baby grand piano is always available during the day for the musically inclined, and there is live music in Fremont "village" ongoing in the evenings. Nectar Lounge is a favorite. Parking on site is a great feature. Be sure to reserve your space! Bus stop nearby takes you to Seattle Center, Pike Place Market and/or downtown in 20 minutes +/-. If driving you are just 10 minutes on Aurora/Hwy 99 to Pike Place market parking in the World Market building. Buy a treat at the World Market for free parking while you visit Pike Place. You can walk to the NEWER restaurant district at 43rd and Fremont Ave which includes the ever popular Paseo, Cafe Vita, UNeedaBurger, and Pecado Bueno, plus highly rated Rock Creek, and, Fremont Bowl are popular as well Near the center of Fremont between N 34th Street and N 36th Street there are more shops, cafes, and restaurants, quirky and artsy installations, Theo Chocolate Factory, Burnt Sugar, PCC (awesome and organic grocery), Fremont Coffee, Qazi's newly remodeled dining room, Nectar's live music venue, The Troll, Cafe Turko, and other favorites. ROOM: South facing and spacious with a sleeping alcove and an extra comfy twin mattress near the view window to allow for an additional guest! The bathroom is three steps away. It is shared with the room on the north facing side of the house. There are no common walls for the bedrooms. The alcove sleeping area is charming with a lower ceiling. (174sf) There is a desk in the room for corporate guests who need to work while here. THE HOUSE: Beautiful 1920's tudor style home in Seattle's popular Fremont neighborhood. Protected by two towering douglas fir trees and a large hedge, the house is private and quiet, and is set in the NE corner of the lot with the gardens on the west and south sides. Artsy and peaceful, awesome kitchen, great view deck to garden and mtn, hardwood floors on main, tile shower up, wifi, laundry, parking and a "bike garage" in the lower storage area. And again, a bit romantic with a sleeping alcove in the room, plus plenty of open space too, and includes a twin mattress for a third guest. There is a desk in the room for corporate guests who need to work while here. NOTE: both beds are comfortable mattresses on the floor with pillow tops - have tested both successfully! LOCATION: This is an amazing hillside Fremont"village" location, in the residential section with secret stair walks and a variety of gardens and homes, and a 5-10 minute walk to shops, groceries, restaurants, buses and the ship canal. (Visit the Fremont Troll, the rocket ship at 35th and Evanston just across from the Saturn building, the topiary dinosaurs, the sundial at Gasworks Park, the Zoo, Theo's chocolate factory, Waiting for the Interurban and the very cool Fremont Bridge.) MISCELLANEOUS: A common area and cozy reading area is at the top of the stairs between the 2 rooms,. The tile shower and bead board wainscoating bath is just steps from your room. The bath is shared with another room located on the other side of the sitting area. You have no common walls with other rooms so your space is private and quiet. And on cooler evenings there's a fire pit in the garden. COUNTRY IN CITY: Everyone is amazed at this little corner of Seattle, feeling as if you are in the country, yet just 10-15 minutes from downtown, UW, Puget Sound or Lake Washington. You will not find super manicured lawns but you will find lovely gardens, gravel paths, birds and a few squirrels, spring and summer flowers, and a great walking score. And, you won't find sidewalks on this side street, but most of the year you will be greeted by charming hedges and leafy tree overhangs as you enter this somewhat secret hideaway in the city. Bus service is easy and convenient too. 20 minutes to "The Market" with normal traffic. Bus routes to check out are the 28, the 5 and the 40 for starters. KITCHEN: The kitchen is set up with a French door refrigerator with a shelf reserved for you, a large drawer for other dry items, and an awesome gas range that is very popular among visiting cooks. Two cooks can easily work together or separately. (Kitchen includes a dishwasher, toaster oven, juicer, blender, slow cooker, rice cooker, and mixer.) BE SURE TO LET HOST KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO COOK FULL DINNERS. Remember the house rules of quiet from 10pm to 10am and no more cooking after 9pm. GARDEN: The garden is a staircase away. Collards and kale most of the year, In early summer the raspberries are delicious. Blackberries across the road and on the east side ripen in Aug/Sept. In February the bulbs and leaves start to grow to the light and lunch on the deck on a sunny day in early April is GREAT! Last year I planted extra bulbs and am look forward to pots and gardens with more tulips and narcissus in 2017 too. ROOM DETAILS: You will have your own room with a queen size bed, share a lovely shower bath, upstairs and away from the main living spaces. There is an extra day bed/ mattress as well for an additional guest VISITING Fremont! Cafes, shops, biking trails, the Troll, and the life size sun dial at Gas Works Park with its spectacular view of downtown are all within walking distance. The Burke Gilman Trail is at the bottom of the hill, just turn left and you are on your way to Bothell if you like, or just a leisurely waterfront stroll. Fremont Coffee, Cafe Ladro, Starbucks, Lighthouse Roaster and several other great coffee houses are nearby. Nightlife is busy and fun with much life music. Market Time at 44th and Fremont Ave and the PCC at 34th and Evanston (dedicated to an organic and healthy lifestyle) make grocery shopping easy whether you drive, walk or bike. WINTER: Being in Seattle in the winter is cozy and full of sparkling tree lights to keep away the dark. During the shortest days we have sunset by 4:15pm and sunrise around 7:40am. We don't actually have rain so much as many days of overcast skies with no sunshine, or quite little. And, lately the weather patterns have sometimes been different. We're all working around the global change patterns these days. In the approaching spring thorough late summer it is sooo beautiful. Guests can make morning coffee and use the fridge shelf assigned for personal food. There is also a large drawer in the kitchen for dry goods, etc., that will be available for your dry goods, snacks, (website hidden) is also an option so make your request before you arrive and the kitchen will be yours for the evening (other guest room will be notified). Guests can use the deck and sit in the garden or arrange for an evening fire around the fire pit. As the season progresses, when the tomatoes ripen, or when the raspberries are ripe, they are fun to share. There is also a basement area below the house with an exterior access only that is good for storing bikes or a kayak (with notice). Bikes are also safe, typically, in the back yard under the deck. Usually guests are clear if they want to come and go quietly with not too much interaction or if they want to visit about the area or chat a bit. Either is fine. I try to allow the guests to set the pace and it seems to work, whether we create some friendship ties or just morning and evening hello's. I LOVE THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. We have the best of just about everything - some great mtn views, access to the water for kayaking, and boating, easy hwy and freeway access, an active arts community and busy chamber of commerce. There are many coffee shops, restaurants and several grocery stores within walking distance or a short drive (PCC, Market Time, Fred Meyer, 7-11, Trader Joes, QFC). PCC is GMO free and has pature raised beef and eggs, organic coffee beans, a deli, a salad bar and hot food bar. The produce section is carefully selected and amazing. Prices are not cheap, quality is high. New and older restaurants offer a wide variety of dining, and decor. Walk to everything in Fremont, or use it as your home base with great access to down town, Ballard, the locks, and Shilshoe and Golden Gardens. UW is a quick bike ride away, or 4-10 minutes by car depending on where you need to go. South Lake Union is hopping with activity, amazon, the Gates Foundation, and more. Be there in 5 minutes. Parking is free and is in front of the house in an attractive gravel parking area. Bus service is frequent and takes you nearly everywhere a visitor would want to go. Check out seattle transit. There are bus pamphlets in the rooms or in the basket at the base of the stairs. From the airport: You have several options… 1. Taxi - about 30 minutes 2. Light rail - roll your bags to the light rail station by following the signs and you can economically go all the way to Westlake Center downtown. From there you can grab a taxi or take the 28 or the 5 bus into Fremont and walk to the house. 45 minutes to the house if you are lucky with timing or perhaps 1.5 hrs if buses are slower and you don't take a taxi for any part of the trip. 3. Super Shuttle type service - check the internet for details. 4. Car rental at the airport, then follow gps and directions on this site to drive to the house. I takes about 25 minutes from the airport to the house. Fall is brisk and great for walks and steaming coffee and yummy soups. Everyone sports trades in flip flops and sandals for boots and long socks and jackets. Winter is pretty dark and there are lots of festivities in December. (see skiing below) Coffee houses are popular as are live music, jazz, opera, and ballet. As the weather warms up and the days get long and sunnier, there is a LOT to enjoy in the area. Be sure to check out hiking sites, and tour info on line. At the house there will be information too. Fremont itself is fun and great all year round. The markets on Sundays in Fremont and Ballard are great. Always ask if you don't find what you want. SKIING: Snoqualmie Pass is 45 minutes away and has really popular night skiing. Alpental offers more challenging runs. And don't forget cross country skiing and snowshoeing. KITTITAS VALLEY: Cle Elum and Roslynd are about an hour and a half east on I 90. If you are looking for snow, the old west, sunshine and some wide open spaces just go East and you'll find it. There are some jaw dropping views when you drive the back roads and hiking to Manastash Ridge is a super day hike - with spectacular views.
I love my neighborhood for all the reasons I've listed above, and because of the community feel here. The Fremont Arts Council and the Fremont Abbey for arts and performance oriented creativity and activities, the Chamber for growing and sustaining businesses, and the local color everywhere. Walking along the Burke Gilman Trail at the base of Phinney Avenue by the life sized dinosaur topiaries is a great way to spend time and get a ground level view of the canal and all the boats and ships that pass by. Stopping at the Lighthouse Roaster for incredibly delicious coffee and a variety of teas gives you a taste of a local and very popular neighborhood meeting place. Following the many connecting stairways and paths in the area gives you a very special experience of this great neighborhood. There is a newly finished neighborhood stair case on Greenwood Avenue. Great for step training! Link to typical tourist sites and some great alternatives: (URL HIDDEN) hidden)/html/travel(phone number hidden)_(email hidden)ml Even though the house is minutes away from the bustle of the Fremont community with live music venues at night and a popular Sunday market on weekends, you would not realize that. This is also a great place to take a private retreat with grounds and gardens that feel totally away from the city while being close to everything. Always feel comfortable asking for information and good places to visit in Fremont.

Enjoy your stay at a modern studio apartment with private access in the heart of Seattle's charming Fremont neighborhood. Just minutes from downtown Seattle, live like a local with easy access to major bus lines, free street parking, and plenty of good eats/drinks around!
The space is a basement studio apartment with a full kitchen, bath, and queen sized bed. The studio comfortably sleeps 2 in a queen size bed, but there's a large sectional couch that will sleep a 3rd guest - or even a 4th if someone doesn't mind curling up on the Chaise lounge (e.g., a smaller guest). We have plenty of extra blankets and linens if you should need them, and a full size air mattress as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware if you have the urge to whip up a meal. We also have a french press for your coffee needs. The full size, heated bathroom comes equipped with a large vanity/mirror and plenty of plush towels. Extra toiletries are available in the event you forget your go-to shampoo and body wash. Tired from running around the city all day? Please treat yourself to a relaxing bubble bath! We have a flatscreen TV and XBOX for any relaxing couch time. You have access to Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Instant Video for movies/shows on demand. Sidenote for summer guests: Many places in Seattle do not have air conditioning. Beat the summer heat with this basement unit - it stays cooler than the other side of the pillow.
Fremont is hip and charming. There are many eclectic restaurants and shops within walking distance. We particularly love the Sunday Farmers market. We suggest checking out the Fremont Troll, Gas Works Park, and walking the Burke Gilman Trail. Fremont is also minutes from the Ballard neighborhood. There are many great eats and shops there as well. We're big foodies and provide a list of restaurants to try in the unit.

Enjoy the excitement of Seattle and city life in a quiet and green retreat at the Center of the Universe- Fremont!
If what you’re looking for is a cozy, private cottage with easy access to everything Seattle has to offer, then you’ve found your new home away from home! Our charming cottage was originally built in 1950 and is positioned at the back of the large garden behind the main house. The lush garden provides a private oasis from the bustling city. With a super comfy (full) bed, large bay window and skylights above the bed, the cottage is a dreamy place to relax. As it is a studio, the bedroom, living room, and kitchen are one. There’s a small table and chairs for breakfast or tea. The bathroom has been described as European style – it is a small, tiled room with a toilet, sink, and shower overhead. The water heater is relatively small so short showers are recommended. You’ll find tea, coffee, fresh towels, and other necessities (the bathroom cabinet is stocked with toiletries in case you forget anything). There are 2 beach cruisers you can use to ride down the bike path and explore the neighborhood. Wifi is provided. I’ve been an airbnb host for the last 6 years and it’s such a pleasure to share our space! My family and I love meeting our visitors and are available to answer any questions you have during your stay.
We are a 5-minute walk from “downtown” Fremont (but just far enough to avoid the noise from the bars during the weekend). Here you’ll find dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. The bike path is just down the hill and winds along the ship canal. This beautiful ride (or walk) will take you to the shops in Fremont or further to the U-district (where the University of Washington is). Buses stop at the bottom of our hill and will take you to Ballard in 5 minutes or downtown Seattle in 10. You won’t need a car to explore but street parking is plentiful!

Great house. Amazing location w/easy bus access. High ceilings with great bed. It's a beautiful home on a hill, with gardens, & a country in the city vibe! Views of Mt Rainier. Walk into Fremont (10min.) for cafes, great food, and great music. 20-25 minutes to Pike Place Market via bus, and 10 minutes by car; walk to the Troll, Lk Union, Ballard Locks, downtown, & stadiums are all conveniently accessible by bus. Awesome kitchen; hardwoods, baby grand piano & leaded glass, cool windows.
Beautiful country in the city feel, overlooking trees and gardens. Comfortable bed in light airy room with a high ceiling. (140sf) Bedroom is clutter free with fresh flowers and chocolate to welcome you. The tile bathroom is newer and the landing area offers extra privacy and a sitting area. Very quiet for a great night's sleep! Stairs to the room are 3' wide, a bit narrower than some, in the style of the 1920's. For a third guest we have a comfy single air bed; the room is large enough to accommodate it easily for most guests. (140sf)The airbed can be adjusted for comfort. If you like a more open space, ask that the air bed be deflated, if you are a couple! Or request a smaller air mattress if you prefer. Country in city feeling, within blocks of buses, Aurora Ave, Fremont's core village area, and great food and coffee shops. One block from 40th and Phinney. (Note: Phinney is a steep hill so check on alternative walking access to the Fremont center, on city stairs just west of Greenwood Ave.) My home is a 1920's tudor with leaded glass, hardwood floors, picture molding and very peaceful surroundings yet in the middle of the Fremont neighborhood. You can walk to the new restaurant district at 43rd and Fremont Ave or down into the center for more food and entertainment or to access the Burke Gilman running and bike trail. Walk to Seattle Pacific University (SPU), (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), Tableau, Adobe and other high tech offices. Check photos for ambiance and the baby grand piano. The kitchen is totally cool with a large gas range, french door fridge, and southwest exposure. There's a drawer and a fridge space for you too. The deck off the kitchen overlooks the gardens and has views of Mt Rainier in the distance, on a clear day. It's awesome for morning coffee, or a full meal. And the fire pit is always available, when there are no fire restrictions, for an evening under the stars or autumn/winter couds . Wallingford, Queen Anne, Ballard, Phinney Ridge, Greenwood, and Green Lake are all close by. There's a laundry room as well - just check for use and appt. The bathroom is shared with the other airbnb room on the same upper floor. Walk around Fremont - you're a few blocks to shopping, great restaurants, the Canal and Lake Union, the Fremont Bridge and Near the Troll, the rocket ship, topiary dinosaurs, Burke Gilman trail for biking, Gas Works Park, Woodland Park Zoo, Greenlake, South Lake Union, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN),the ship canal, History House, Ballard and Lake Union, it's a perfect base for exploring Seattle while enjoying a really welcoming environment, close to everything. Check out the guide book below, for more local shops and sites. Great walk score of 87. However the hills surrounding this house on a hill can be tough if you're not in fairly good shape or have mobility issues for a block or two. The room has been small for a few larger and taller guests, so be sure you are ok with the size (11' 2.5" x 13 ') but typically gets great reviews for up to three persons without extra bags. More details on Location - It is is great within minutes of the Fremont center, the Woodland Park Zoo, cafes, shopping, groceries and buses!! You can walk to the Fremont Troll and the Fremont outdoor market on Sundays. SPU is a leisurely walk across the Fremont Bridge on Nickerson. Drive 10-15 minutes to South Lake Union (Amazon, Gates Foundation etc.) and a few more to the downtown core, Seattle Center and the Pike Place Market! 10-15 minutes drive west to Ballard, Discovery Park, Golden Gardens Beach and Shilshoe Marina or East to University of Washington, the Mountaineers, University Village shopping, and 5 minutes to the Wallingford and Greenwood neighborhoods. About 5 - 10 minutes to parking at Green Lake for a stroll around the lake, walking the Woodland Park trails, or enjoying the public tennis courts. And don't forget the beautiful rose garden. 2 hours to Mt Rainier; 45 minutes to Snoqualmie Pass for some fairly easy hikes to views west back to Seattle. Tiger Mountain is very popular, as is the more challenging hike up Granite Mountain near North Bend. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) the Washington Trails Association for some great hikes. On Hwy I-90 drive 2 hours to Ellensburg where the annual August rodeo is one of the best in the region and you can hike up Manastash Ridge from the trail off Cove Road. 2.5 hours to Portland and/or Vancouver BC depending on traffic and border wait times (BC). 20 -25 minutes to the ferries. Check the Washington State Ferry service on line for departure times and allow for delays and longer waits in the summer. See another outline in Getting Around below. Feedback on location: One guest who just left described it as an Oasis in Seattle. And we are on Phinney Ave which has a couple of pretty steep blocks so it is a bit of a hike home - I like using Dayton Avenue from N 36th Street for the more gradual elevation to N 40th St. Some house guidelines: No smoking; mellow, quiet atmosphere; shoes off in carpeted areas; cooking/clean up ok up to 10pm; 10pm - 10am low volume time in the house; if using the fire pit make sure there's a pail of water near the fire. See house rules.... ….
Self acclaimed "center of the universe," I love my neighborhood for all the reasons I've listed above, and because of the community feel here. The buses can take you just about anywhere you want to visit in Seattle. Locally, The Fremont Arts Council and the Fremont Abbey for arts and performance oriented creativity and activities, the Chamber for growing and sustaining businesses, and the local color everywhere, make the area a popular place to live and visit. Walking along the Burke Gilman Trail at the base of Phinney Avenue by the life sized dinosaur topiaries is a great way to spend time and get a ground level view of the canal and all the boats and ships that pass by. Stopping at the Lighthouse Roaster at 40th and Phinney, for incredibly delicious coffee and a variety of teas gives you a taste of a local and very popular neighborhood meeting place. Following the many connecting stairways and paths in the area gives you a very special experience of this great neighborhood. There is a newly finished neighborhood stair case on Greenwood Avenue. Great for step training! Take to the hills and check out the great homes between N 39th and N 42nd - modern, traditional, large and small. Walk down into the Fremont "village" for meals or night life or cafes or shopping. Note: steeper hills here. Link to typical tourist sites and some great alternatives can be found on the seattle times site. Even though the house is minutes away from the bustle of the Fremont community with live music venues at night and a popular Sunday market on weekends, you would not realize that. This is also a great place to take a private retreat with grounds and gardens that feel totally away from the city while being close to everything. Always feel comfortable asking for information and good places to visit in Fremont.
