Scenic coastal tour in an expedition Zodiac - Lunenburg

Are you a road-less-travelled kind of person? Would you like to experience a beautiful, less touristy part of Nova Scotia? Join us for a 2-hour coastal tour through Tanner's Pass and Lunenburg's back passage — a pristine part of the Atlantic Ocean. Our tour is in a professional, 19-foot Zodiac MilPro HD. These popular vessels are the black, inflatable boats you find on expedition ships around the world. They're also the boats we operate as photographers and guides in Antarctica and the Canadian sub-arctic. So what will we see? It is common to see numerous seals, osprey, great blue herons, various sea birds, mink, and deer as we Explore the South Shore. We’ll also talk about flora and geology as we cruise the area. It truly is one of the prettiest parts of Nova Scotia! There are two things we cannot control; wildlife and weather. That said, we keep a close eye on marine weather forecasts and if we have any safety concerns, we will reach out asap. We operate rain or shine so please be prepared to get at least a little wet. We’re not whitewater rafting, but there’s still a very good chance water will come over the bow. Please contact us if you have any questions at all!

When you arrive, there is parking on-site on your right. The visitor barn has a large white banner visible from the street. Please walk to the visitor barn from the parking lot. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by one of our co-founders or animal caregivers at our historic visitor barn. Guests will receive a brief introduction to the nonprofit and the property. You will be able to enter animal enclosures and meet some of the animal residents while learning about animal agriculture and hearing some of the unique rescue stories at Tamerlaine. Many of our animals love human attention! Feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy lunch (we only allow plant-based / vegan food at the sanctuary) while taking in beautiful views of the property. Learn about the lives of farmed animals and animal rehabilitation while listening to unique and inspiring recovery and rescue stories that will warm your heart. Arrive 5- 10 minutes before the tour to fill out our waiver and use the restroom.

Feel free to buy something there while we get acquainted & start our exploration of the people & events of the founding of Boston & the early years of the American Revolution. We will head out on foot to walk a portion of the Freedom Trail. You will see & learn about the Old State House & the Boston Massacre, the Old Corner Bookstore & the Irish Famine Memorial & the Old South Meeting House - where the Tea Party started. Next, we head up School Street to learn about the Old City Hall & visit the site of the first public school in America. We’ll step into the oldest continuously run hotel in America & explore the rich history of this beautiful hotel. Onto King’s Chapel Church & the oldest burial ground in Boston. We will see the brutalist masterpiece- New City Hall & conclude at the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area. You might want to shop or get a drink or meal at one of the many restaurants & bars at the end of the tour. I will share recommendations for things to do & places to eat. Join me to explore Boston & the Freedom Trail. Boston is a beautiful city - rich in history & stories that I want to share with you! If your group has more than ten people, there will be an additional charge of $15 for each extra person when you arrive at the sanctuary. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to seeing you soon! Upon Arrival guests will be greeted by one of our co-founders at our historic event barn. Guests will receive a brief introduction to the nonprofit and the property. You will be able to enter animal enclosures and meet most of the animal residents, while learning about animal agriculture and hearing some of the heartwarming rescue stories of survival against all odds. Most of our animals love human attention! Feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy lunch (vegan) while taking in beautiful views of the property. Learn about the lives of farmed animals and our rescue and rehabilitation work. You will leave with a renewed sense of appreciation for all animals. There is parking on site when you arrive. The visitor barn has a large white banner visible from the street. Please walk to the visitor barn from the parking lot. Arrive 5- 10 minutes before the tour to fill our our waiver and use the restroom. At check out, (1) ticket applies for a group of ten (10) or less.

The North End is famous for its Italian food but it is also the first settlement area dated to 1630. We will cover it all - 1600s to 2020s. Come along for the historical “ride”. We will meet near the Boston Public Market and take a loop through this welcome addition to the Boston food scene. We will cross the Rose Kennedy Greenway and travel into the North End up Salem Street exploring the side streets as we go. We’ll see the exterior of the Old North Church and see the second oldest burial ground Copp’s Hill. We will see the Paul Revere monument and the last remaining Charles Bulfinch Church. We will see a private memorial to the Saints as we pop in and out of markets and bakeries along the walk. We will talk about the Great Molasses Flood, the Brinks Robbery, and Ponzi. We will conclude our tour in front of Paul Revere’s House. Other things to note Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
